That we're getting so bent out of shape over the first game with a new coaching staff and all new offensive and defensive schemes. A game that we.....HELLO.....WON!!!!! Was I happy with the game? Not entirely but there were alot more positives, see my post from yesterday, then you people are letting on.

I was watching Woody and Skip on "1st and 10" on "Cold Pizza" yesterday and they debated whether or not college football should play maybe one game that doesn't count kind of like what the NFL does (believe me I know we don't need 5). They both said it might not be a bad idea so that teams can get the kinks out before the games start to matter. Especially when you have such important games as Cal vs. Tennessee, and Florida State-Miami so early.

That's exactly what K-State needs to do.....Get the kinks out.

Look no further then some of the games this weekend. Northern Arizona was even with Arizona State after 3 quarters, UAB was within 4 of Oklahoma after 3 quarters, Baylor was within 3 of tcu going into the 4th quarter. These things happen in Week 1.

Also.....Look no further then the slopfest that Florida State and Miami played last night. They went a combined 9-31 on 3rd down, they had a combined 3 yards rushing.....HELLO 3 YARDS RUSHING.....and at least the Cats had less penalties then either of those teams.

Now could we please move on to Florida Atlantic now? Because if you saw my post about them yesterday.....They can play a little bit too.

Good and valid post.  It was my prediction that we would have a close one and we did. KSU did some very important things well against a polished experienced team. Keep in mind the coaching staff coached their first game together. The players did a lot of things right. All in all not bad. Not what we wished by any means, but a win is a win. At this point I would say that a break even season would be a good one for KSU.  I don't think Meyer is our best quarterback. My take could be that Meyer is placed out there first to let the offensive  line  get some playing time together.  I think it is real important to protect the freshman quarterback. Most think he will start before the end of the season. I agree.Anyway I say let Prince do what he does and let him coach. Keep in mind that everything is now new.  For all intent and purpose this program is starting over. JMHO

Screw a 'pre-season' type game. If they are going to add another week of college football than make it another official game.

If you want time to 'get the kinks out' then schedule creampuffs so theres plenty of room for error.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

We won a game that most new coaches might not win (see Colorado).

We obviously have issues to deal with, but there is time to get the offense in sync and work things out.  Watching Illinois State defense, I can see where a Snyder offense would have taken them down.  I just kept waiting for the option.. then realized that while Snyder was in the stadium, he didn't have a headset on.

I'm sure it will get worked out.  I still think we can win 8 games, just depends on how quickly the kids can catch on.

Yeah, most new coaches.   Usually, a new coach rarely wins his first game.    Doesn't matter who the opponent is.

You should have gone with a puffier creampuff.

The funniest thing of all, is the ku fans running around acting like they just beat Florida State.

ku ... with a 5th year coach, does pretty well against the 35th or 36th ranked D1aa team ... it wasn't anything spectacular, and suddenly ku's winning the North and KSU won't win another game.

Classic Squawk.
