Seriously one of the most intense moments of my life.  This was a trial for a murder that occured in 1989.  Those in Topeka have probably seen or heard of the case. My nerves are still a wreck from today.  :users:

I'm 31 and have only been called twice.  The first time was for Hays Dist court a month after I moved to Topeka, so obviously I didn't have to serve. The second time was in Topeka about a month before I moved to KC.  I called to check in on Sunday evening and they said all cases for the week had settled so I wasn't needed.

I expect to get one any day now that I'm registered in the dotte.  Lots of criminals in need of temporary (and permanent) housing here.

My wife just got one in the mail today....

I've never had to serve, but I did have to report.  We sat there for 2 hours without doing a thing.  It seems when the perps saw that there was actually a jury gettin' ready to be seated, they decided to bargain.

They robbed a bank with an off-duty cop right behind them in line.  They left the bank, got in a high speed chase, and crashed their car into a ditch on the other side of town.

I'm real sure they knew you'd be selected and could not afford to have your jury decide their fate.

I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

    The very best.
I got a letter to serve, ignored it, and the judge called and raped me.

they mean business when they send you "the letter"
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

i don't remember. i remember screaming back, "I'm a college student! You wouldn't understand! leave me alone!"

I somehow got out of it.
