From what I have heard, it looks like the transfer is a 2006 recruit who was unable to qualify academically to the school they signed with because of that schools higher standards.  But would qualify at K-State, if that makes any sense.  But I think they have to be enrolled at K-State by September 12.  So we could be finding out in the next week or two.

A name thrown out was Daequon Cook, an Ohio State recruit.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

The information being spread around does not seem in line with either. It's definitely not Evans, if he's clean after a year of juco then I am sure we start recruiting him again and he comes to KSU.

This transfer is a from a major college program not high school, at least according to reports.

The Walker rumor has to be total BS. No way he would be eligible to play NCAA without graduating. :bs:

It will really be a ton of fun if/when it happens.

Okay, I know like 2 hours ago I mentioned Cook, I have got another one.  Cameron Tatum a UNC-Charlotte recruit who I think backed out when Hill came to K-State.  He is friends with Beasely too.  It gets more interesting, he is from Georiga, and I heard Huggins flew down to Georiga within the last few days.

At this point I don't know how high profile he is, and if he would make the rest of the Big 12 groan if he came to KSU, as reported by Fitz.

If Fitz says it's a big time recruit, it almost certainly isn't.

Rivals has tatum as the number 13 SG for 2006. Thats big time enough for me.

...and we're on his list.

But I still have doubts that a mystery player exists.

From what I have gathered it's a 2006 recruit that is qualified by NCAA standards but not by his current schools requirements so is being released of his scholarship! But a big name guy! So I dont really know if thats considered a transfer but thats the only info I can say about the player!

i was thinking along these lines, but a year earlier... brumbaugh.

like tatum, not bigtime enough to justify the hype, but '06 wing wilderness didn't qualify at charlotte.  recruited by hill, i think, from atlanta, etc.  but i don't think it is him either.  frankly this whole thing is kind of pissing me off.

The problem right now is the variable of "big-time"

just throwing out names... toni soda never made it to NU.  i don't know if he is a big time name, but i was looking forward to seeing him in the big 12.  good player.

Trust me, you will know by the collective groan throughout the Big 12. You know, I think this Bob Huggins guy is a keeper.

i didn't groan when soda was going to nu.  and tatum wouldn't make the big 12 groan either.  this guy is definately a 5 star, and if he's anything less i'll be very disappointed.

man you guys are so wrong. this board will be very embarassed when the announcement is made... for as much as you guys dog on fitz, if you compare this thread to what comes out of the "transfer", you will realize that he knew far more about this situation than any of you...

Blindly following Fitz is embarrassing.  Not doing so is laudable.  This holds regardless of whether he happens to be right or wrong.  You're confusing distinct ideas.

i'm just saying follow him on this one, he is right on this one... he shouldn't have released the info that there is a myster transfer/recruit. because then everyone goes into a frenzy guessing who it is but he did it so that people think he broke all the stories. and he was the first person to mention this story, regardless of if he was supposed to or not.. but believe me when i say this, everything he has said in regards to this situation is correct. don't take every single word he has said so literally (i don't know if the big 12 will actually groan aloud, i would if i was say bill self or someone else) but the greater picture is totally true and you will find out soon...
