You're living in la la land.

You think NU just spent $60 million dollars of which $40 was spent on the new Osborne Center just to provide an environment for better athletic development??

You're drunk.

Plus, you and the other powertards only chose to read what you wanted ... I never once suggested KSU spend $150 million bucks ... or that facilities was the be all and end all.

But you've got your head buried Bill Snyder and "no emails or text messages to recruits" deep if you don't think facilities are important and that KSU is behind.

Right.  They spent all that money so it looks nice in the recruiting brochures.

Yeah ... recruits never visit, they just read about it in the brochures ... good god you're a dumbass.

No recruit that's seen the new faciities at NU is impressed in the least.  The AD at NU didn't name OU and Texas by name in terms of keeping up with them when he announced the project.

It  had nothing to do with recruiting??

Go sell crazy somewhere else.

Yeah, I'm sure this is how a recruit looks at a school...

1. Facilities.
Everything else.

Good one.

Wow...this is one gigantic meltdown.

NC, take a breath.  From what I am seeing you can't be happy about anything.  Go outside, walk around, get some fresh air and sunlight instead of constantly crapping over this entire board.  Life exists outside of how you believe the K-State athletic department should be run, what Ron Prince is doing at this exact moment, or what the brickwork will be on Vanier.

Get a good night's sleep, have a nice dinner out with your wife, hug your kids/grandkids, enjoy a Mackinaw Peach or whatever does it for you.

Not a meltdown in the least Fausto.     Plus, I don't think I've said anything about  how the athletic department should be run in this thread.

Facilities are VERY important.  The more we spend on those, the better, IMO.

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

We are ahead of everyone in the North in facilities, except Nebraska.

If ku and ISU get their deals done, that could change.

A lot of people couldn't bench 155.   That's nothing to be ashamed of.   He can't either so it's no big deal.

I don't think we're ahead of Mizzou.  We would be an easy 5th in the south.

Are you talking stadiums, or overall facilities, including the complex, weight rooms, indoor practice facilities, etc?

My point has never been that we shouldn't spend money on facilities, ever.  My point is that I trust our AD to spend the money we do raise wisely.  Dax, on the other hand, wants us to be like the programs who do spend a large amount of money, and quite frankly, I thought the purpose of facilities were to help develop the players athletically.   That means, getting a facility that supports the development of athletics, not a gaudy assed marble and chrome building where the weights are polished every single day and the meeting rooms have ornately decorated wood murals of past glories.   I see programs spending huge amount of moneys to satisfy donor ego's and not as much on the facilities improvements where it counts.  I mean, let's face it, a huge ass 400 pound longhorn logo suspended in the ceiling of the locker room surrounded by lights does what for a player for $250,000?

Missouri just completed a $17 million dollar addition to the Taylor Athletic Center which is almost all football related.  New Sports Nutrition Center (training table) in there as well.

Of course none that really matters and recruits don't pay any attention to it.

Also MJ like the rest of the Powertards always thought I meant KSU should install Gold Platted Fixtures and 48 inch Plasma Screens in every locker, which I never once said was neccsesary.

Bottomline ... while Vanier has been improved and is pretty nice, I know for a fact the current coaches don't like it overall and they said so (poor layout, piecemeal structure, still have to herd the entire team upstairs for meetings and film breakout sessions)... they wanted the current construction stopped and the whole building torn down and started over from scratch ... Weiser offered that to Snyder 5 years ago and Coach "I don't have email and what's text messaging" said no.  It was to late to meet the current staff's wishes ... but they requested and got a ton of changes to the design of which almost all were targeted to impress recruits (more TV's, Flat Screens etc. etc.)... which was done by a firm with really no clue as to what a BCS Conference D1 Football facility is all about.

ku will break ground on a new $31 million dollar football facility ... but its all for training athletes and was never intended nor never will be used to impress recruits ... never, ever, ever.  They're spending $31 million for the hell of it.

I think it'd be great if we could get to where a school like Texas Tech is.

You think you could pull up that email or letter or whatever it is that says the coaches hated it and wanted to stop construction, or is that on a crashed hard drive as well?
