"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

not everyone thinks ksu has backed off pope.  dated 8-31...

"Five-star prospect Herb Pope is now a member of an Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville, Fla.) squad that Coach Rex Morgan feels is the best he has ever coached there. He also noted that Pope is down to five schools. Pope joins an already talented ACD squad.

"Herb is in school here," said Morgan. "With his addition and the other quality players we already have this could be our best team ever. We are ten deep and very athletic and quick."

Teaming up with Pope, a 6-foot-8, 233-pound small forward, is power forward A.J. Stewart, the No. 91 ranked player in the Rivals150.

Pope, who has been highly recruited throughout his career, has trimmed his list to Louisville, Maryland, Kansas State, Connecticut and Pittsburgh.

Morgan noted that Pope plans to visit all five schools before the early signing period in November.

Pope's transfer to Arlington Country Day from Aliquippa (Pa.) High School can only be seen as a boost for Kansas State, considering the strong relationship between the Arlington Country Day program and Coach Bob Huggins. Former Arlington Country Day center Jason Bennett will is currently a freshman at Kansas State."

You can't be racist and like basketball.
It is pretty weird.

I'm presuming Huggs wants Blair more than Pope.

    The very best.
Yes, perhaps J.O is just being a drama queen. Pope's "ballislife's" highlights were awesome. I want him.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I sure as crap wouldn't turn him down.  JO, despite being a great person, does kind of enjoy the spotlight a bit.

ksu is probably going to have to turn someone down.  only 4 scholarships available as of now (3 if this fitz's little tease turns out to be more than an ad gimmick).  i can't imagine ksu is going to want four 4s in their class of 5.

sys is right.  Right now Huggins is balancing egos making sure no one feels like plan B even though someone has to be.  We can't take 4 PFs and we've got to get at least one guard.

You've got to think Tyrell Reed is target #1 for us.
