You can't be racist and like basketball.
That's a lot of money for what he's accomplished so far.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Good news or bad news?

I'm pretty much indifferent.

Based on his results so far, good news. He has improved the program but the wins aren't there.

Probaly means little will come out of the NCAA investigation.

This one suprises me.  I thought Lew was chomping at the bit to fire the guy.  Good thing for us, I guess.

It does show committment. They must really think Mangino will do for them what Snyder did for us.

Snyder won 9 games in his 5th year. Mangino is in his 5th year.

He's got the schedule to do it, but I don't think he's got the team.

Congrats to Coach Mangino.

This says a a lot about Perkins confidence in the job that Mangino is doing.

Well, at least it's not a token extension.  Appears Lew doesn't go "wishy-washy"

snyder and mangino each won 8 conference games through their first four seasons.

of course snyder played fewer conference games in the big 8, and posted the superior winning percentage (28.5% vs. 25%).

Lew knows what few of you know, that Mangino is one of the greatest offensive minds in all of college football and deserves to get paid as such.  This extension is simply locking Mangino in at ku before he can bolt for Ohio State, Texas, FSU, or Notre Dame and really hit the bigtime gold mine.  Smart move by Perkins.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

To me, it shows commitment to mediocrity.  I would have paid him 1-1.2 mil, probably.

To me this is a perfect partnership, Perkins knows his role, Mangino knows his.  Neither one of them is a downgrade and both are excellent at what they do.  kudos to our friends from the east.

Keep in mind, ku was 0-30-1 in their previous 31 games when Manbearpig took over.

Cheating gets you a contract extension at ku.

Coach No Comment.

I'd like to see the contract before I make this assumption.

Lew Perkins is just biding his time until he can kill the ku football program like he did at WSU. Perkins is a dream killer!!!!

Coach Mangino held a press conferance today.
He seemed happy with his new contract.

FBWillie, that pic is hilarious!

Those of you who thought Perkins wanted MM out had no clue at all.  Perkins isn't stupid; he's seen the on-the-field improvements.

Except Mangino is making post-season.. and showing progress... and now dominates his instate rival... has attendance on the rise... other than that he's wooly 100%.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Let's see, $ 1.5 M and gold is $ 625.40 per troy ounce, means that Mangino would have to weigh in at less than 200 pounds to be worth his weight in gold.

Since when has ku been playing Benedictine in football upon the arrival of Manbearpig?

But, if you're talking about K-State, let me remind you that since Manbearpig has been the HC, the squawks have crossed the goal line in only one out of four games he's led the "Blue Wings Rising" against the Cats.

The cumulative score of those four years: 146-43.
