From my point-of-view, it was a no-brainer. From most people's point-of-view, it was a no-brainer. I don't see the likelihood of it happening as being part of whether it should happen. Stacy Spiegelberg SHOULD be in love with me. However, the likelihood of that happening is a total pipedream.

I didn't see it as a tough decision. This program needed Huggins no matter what perception was out there. Gawd knows, Bill Snyder doesn't exactly have a great perception among a lot of people. Other than the drinking problem and different demeanor, Snyder's had to face a lot of the problems Huggins has as far as players go. I didn't see it as a big stretch to take on the criticism you'd face from hiring Huggins. So far, there's been very little criticism. Like I said, props to Weiser, but it was an easy hire. He took a HUGE chance on Prince. Will that pay off? We shall see. Let's hope so.

And who went after him? I don't remember hearing a lot of names being thrown out that were wanting to hire Huggins.

Weiser fired Wooldridge the night he lost in the Big 12 tournament.  We were one of the first to be looking for a coach.  Obviously Iowa State and Missouri were looking at the same time as we were.  Either they didn't think it was a "no-brainer" or he wasn't interested.  Most of the other jobs opened later.   Huggins didn't have to come to KSU.  He could have waited it out.  What about Oklahoma, Indiana, Temple, Mississippi, NC State, Arizona State, Washington State or Seton Hall, heck he could have had the Nebraska job late.

Weiser pulled the trigger early and got it done.  Dax won't admit it, but this hire has everything to do with Tim Weiser.  Heck, who knows Bob might drive home drunk from Aggieville some night this winter and then Tim's ass is on the line.  If it was a good thing to do to hire Bob Huggins, then Weiser gets the credit.  Along with that, the Nike deal goes in his pocket also.

Scuba ... you keep rehasing the same old thing, I've already praised Tim Weiser a long time ago for hiring Eddie Fogler so Eddie could broker the deal for KSU to hire Huggins.

You're axe is down to the nub at this juncture.

Oh I didn't see your post where you agree with me that Weiser gets credit where credit is due for hiring Huggins and landing the Nike contract.  I'm glad to see that you and I agree.  I guess you also agree that Huggins could have easily ended up with a job somewhere else.  I thought that was what we were talking about and not hiring Eddie Fogler.  I guess this conversation is over.

I'm not ready to put Weiser in the hall of fame for hiring Prince, but if Prince succeeds, I might.  I also never thought that Huggins was even a possibility, nor did I think that we wanted him, but I have to say that I will go down on the boat with Weiser on that one.  I'm with him all the way.

Like I keep saying, congrats to Weiser for hiring Fogler who hired Huggins.

    The very best.
Christ. Weiser hire Bob F-ing huggins and is still given back-handed compliments.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.
