Took a cruise through the Western Caribbean.  Jamaica and Grand Cayman sucked.

Playa del Carmen, Mexico, was alright I guess:

What did you not like about Jamaica? Curious.

Reminded me too much of the South.  A bunch of lazy black guys with no jobs sitting around doing nothing.  The best part was after we went on the Ocho Rios river and were walking back to the bus, a bunch of Jamaicans started screaming at us that we were going the wrong way and started pointing us this other way.  So here we were, all these half-naked white people (we were in our swimming suits) and we're forced to walk through this circuitous shanty town the Jamaicans had set up so they can scream at us the whole time to buy their stuff.  It was like the Bataan Death March or slavery in reverse or something.

Never really liked them after that.

So this is that famous ku "acceptance" of other cultures and lifestyles.

My family's from Memphis, dude.  I'll say what I want.  And don't lump me in with those bleeding hearts at ku.

The bleeding going on here from K-State fans is amusing, though.  Like San Francisco, I am thoroughly disappointed in you.

stevedave, glad to see you are thinking of a vacation. You deserve one.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

IMO that's kinda dumb.  That's like saying you are afraid of flying cause the plane will crash.

Except I know, like, 10 people that got Norwalk on cruises.  Don't know anyone who died in plane crashes.  :dunno:  My bro had it coming out of both ends for 7 days while couped up in a little room on a smelly ship.  Kinda scary imo.

that is what i call the Double Dragon my friend. the ol double spray café. one of my personal favs.
We all know there's been a conspiracy. Only the failures have been recorded.

Did a 10 day cruise through the panama canal last january I would recommend. It stopped every day in a new country so we weren't trapped in the floating hotel. I liked Quepos Costa Rica, Aruba, the best. I have heard that Panama City Panama is like the cooler younger version of Miami. the wife and I decided that the 10 day event was a good taste of places to go back and explore more later. It started in Acapulco and ended in Puerto Rico. Went to Cartagena, and it is up and coming but when your tour guide keeps telling you how safe you are, it is a little unnerving and I am pretty fearless when it comes to travel. That's the only drawback to the cruises is everything needs a tour guide. If your not too adventurous Aruba is gorgeous and pretty safe, but I preferred Costa Rica

9/10 High school seniors from alabama recomend it!!!!!

cruises are gay, seriously.  who would even consider this crap?  i'd rather head down baha california in a dune buggy or chill on the beach in st. barts.  vacations in general are a huge waste of money imo though, so idk

LOL.

Steve is being a pussy for thinking he's going to get sick on a cruise.

clam's thinks going on a cruise is gay.

Since I have been on a few, I have neither gotten sick, known anyone who has, nor have I seen a plane full of people crash, and have never seen anyone or myself turn gay,  I think it's a matter of people being overly cautious and have low self-esteem.

so, if Mrs. Dave is reading this, kick Mr. Dave in the nads, and make him take you.   He'll feel extremely silly for putting up such a fuss.

You're never going to ever get laid if you don't learn to explore the world.

And it doesn't involve any "gayness".

you consider "getting out and exploring the world" sitting on the deck of a cruise ship getting hauled around from tourist trap port to tourist trap port.

you take your version, i'll take mine

Who said cruising is "exploring the world"?  I don't really consider it exploring the world, especially when there is very little difference between the ports, and the USA.

I'm going to Japan in 2010 to visit a bud in the Navy.  Plane tickets for my wife and I will total nearly $3,000. That will buy a nice cruise.  :flush:  But instead, we will "explore the world", still should be fun.

It is amazing how silly you people are about vacations.

Going on a cruise can be exploring the world because you'll go to places you never been.  While a lot of them are tourist traps, so can pretty much any city and other place in the United States.   Of course, if you're not smart to start with, then you deserve what you get.   :flush:

Until you experience the available packages, you shouldn't comment on the entire cruise industry.   I've been on several and have visited places over the world that I might not have gone to.   Many packages allow you to make excursions past the Welcome Americans and your Money ports, you just have to see what's available.

And while they can be expensive, they are not boring or even gay (unless you go on the ones that pissclams does) and you'll be surprised at what you can do.

So be an adventurer and stop listening to the unambitious tards that frequent these boards.

Adventurer and Cruises don't belong in the same sentence. It's kind of like saying "stop being a picky eater and go try something crazy like bread".

We are going to visit some Mayan ruins and raft on "dunns river falls" on our next cruise, fwiw.  I realize that isn't eating giraffe testicles with the natives of Lesotho, or visiting a Chinese whorehouse, but it's still pretty adventurous for a dude who has lived in Topeka, KS for his entire livelihood.

one caveat.  the airport is not especially awesome.
