You can't be racist and like basketball.
We've already filled most of our available scholarships.  Is Ron going to cut back on Juco's, or is he going to try and squeeze in some midyears?

It certainly doesn’t seem like it, does it?  It is kind of a mystery to me.  When he was hired, he talked about taking advantage of the area junior college talent.  Then there was speculation about him re-establishing good relations with some of the area programs.  He took in a lot of junior college players last year.  He even went to junior college himself.  Now it seems like he will be recruiting a minimal number of junior college players this year.  If he is indeed the Anti-Snyder, he won't take any.

Definitely an option.

Thats just good recruiting. Wave of the future.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Only bad players worry about scholarship offers being pulled.  If you're a good player, you know that you don't need to.  Who really cares if we scare off some bad players?

Exactly. There is no ethical dilemma here.

Its merely cutthroat football recruiting and dammit, its scary smart.

if we don't go the juco route we will fail.  KSU will not be able to recruit enough of the top prep talent to compete on a national level especially with our new offense we want to run.

I just hope Prince doesn't burn some bridges with high school coaches by doing that.

I would prefer to see most of the Juco schols go to defensive players though.  It seems like those are the guys that acclimate the fastest to 1a football.  If we go the Juco route on offense I would not like to see Juco o-lineman that often unless they have 3 years to play.  A pro style offense can be very hard to learn up front and I think the failure rate for o-lineman in this scenario is high.  If we go Juco on offense I would rather see rb's and wr's.  On defense, let em all come, as long as they are good enough to play fairly early their first year.

our bitter and most hated enemy has gone the Juco route recently and hit a freaking gold mine with defensive jucos

the fuskers.  They have quite a nasty bunch On defense.  From what i have gleamed, Jucos on the d-line  Barry Cryer, Ola Dagunduro, Brandon Johnson, Linebacker steve octavian and a pair if 5 star db's named Bowman and Jones, Bowman was slotted as the first cb taken in the draft by Kiper but he tore his knee up and will come back for 07.  they might have more than that I don't know, those are just the guys that we will be seeing this year

I think you have to go high school for the o line too.  If prince continues to develop o-linemen now that he is a head coach the more time iwth him the better.  I would also expect better o-linemen to want to come here.  Does anyone have numbers on how high the ferguson and some other guys were rated when they were recruited to virginia?
