    warm up the EMAW
Saw Birdman in the Hotlanta airport.

Saw Cedric the Entertainer at a Padres game.

Saw Larry Johnson in the Plaza.

I lost my mind in the '98 off-season when I told Aaron Lockett he was "the sh1t" at the West Side Dara's and he repeatedly responded with "I preciate that.  Preciate that man."

Those wouldn't even be good ones.  Needs to be obscure for the maximum points of board cred allowable.  Starting with Bill Murray would have a value of only 15 while starting with someone like, say, Roz from Cheers would have a starting value of 17.  I mean, the story is going to have to be good but your chances are better of pulling off a high number.  Just imo bros.

-Noah Wyle from ER in the Dallas Airport food court.  He was eating McDonalds, I enjoyed that.
-Dr. J at Mandalay Bay in Vegas...walked by me with a good looking lady coming out of a club
-worthless host of Pros v. Joes, Petros Papadakis...also in Mandalay, getting money from the ATM.
-Brandon Rush at the Hard Rock in Vegas a couple days after the NBA draft.  His face and existence annoyed me.
"Kids used to hit him and stab him with pencils," says Harley Bennett, Jason's father. "Finally I told him he had to stick up for himself. Jason is not a violent person. One day he hit one of the kids back and got suspended."

I've met a bunch of people on purpose, which I realize isn't the thread, but I'll also include them with little blurbs here.

-Lewis Black, once here and once in Boston.

-talked briefly to Will Ferrell at Kites', and talked to Nick Swardson in the bathroom.  Both were uneventful except that Ferrell was wearing a baby blue knit cap.

-Drove Mo Rocca to Little Apple Brewery, then five years later jmlynch1 and I had a drunken conversation with him over the phone at 6 in the morning.

-With Tracy Morgan: got pulled over/heard all about his DUI the night before in Hollywood/saw him cry/watched him dance with his shirt off in Joe's Tap Room/saw him smoke a blunt with Thomas Clayton/I think he did ecstasy that night/watched him grope every girl in the greater Manhattan area while he simultaneously reiterated "family first" to me/unscrewed his visine bottle because "his hands were just too slippery"

-Met that Dave Pelzer guy, the guy who wrote A Child Called It.  He was...semi-annoying with all his Ahnold impressions.

-Ben Kweller

-Weezer except Rivers Cuomo

-Death Cab for Cutie

-Ben Folds a bunch of times

-Went on a cruise with/played with Guster.

-Got an individual photo with Barenaked Ladies on the same cruise ship (everybody on the cruise did.  Trust me, I didn't want to).

-Randomly bumped into comedian/actor Harlan Williams at karaoke.  He's the kindergarden teacher in Half-Baked who goes to jail.  "Naughty...jungle of love!...mark of the beast!  SIX SIX SIX!!!!!!"

-MET THE REV!  AL SHARPTON!  Me and jmlynch1 got our picture taken with him while he was wearing a purple tie. :ksu:

-When I was in Boston I was posing for a group photo with some peeps and this jackass walked right in the middle of it as we took the picture.  It turned out to be Jim Bruer.

-Saw Ellen Cleghorne (black chick from mid-90s SNL.  You know, she played the Chocolate Pudding in the original Lunchlady Land skit) on 5th Ave. in New York.

-When I lived in Austin I went to a show during SXSW which actually also turned out to be a party for the movie Knocked Up, which was about to open.  Randomly met/befriended Paul Rudd.  Started talking to him about Wet Hot American Summer, how it's the greatest movie ever, then he introduced me to the director David Wain.  Said something about how now I just have to meet someone from Freaks and Geeks, at which point Rudd was like, "Well Martin Starr is right over there."  So then I hung with Martin Starr, who played Bill Haverchuck for a while until the bar closed...and then Paul Rudd liked us enough that he whisked us away in one of his cars to an afterparty in his penthouse of the 4 Seasons hotel in Austin, where he bought a billion beers and vodkas from room service and we partied until 4 am.  Oh, and there was also some other chubby, little-known actor there with us.  What was his name, again?  Oh yeah, Jonah Hill.   It was super random and WAY TIGHT.

-That Christian Finnegan guy from VH1 Best Week Ever.  Some fugly chicks were all over him.

And all those are good, and I think there are a few others I'm forgetting, but here are the two that will clinch it in absolute FTW fashion:

-I got my picture taken with Mr. Cooper.  He was wearing an orange leather jacket and is WAAAY TALL.

-Weird Al outside of McCain.

-Larry Eustachy

Rode in a Westin Crown Center elevator with Larry and family during the 2000 big 12 tourny (Fizer!)  This was immediately after checking in and being informed by the front desk dude that K-State had just hired a new coach.  ;)

He actually was kind of a prick.  Not to me because I wasn't asking for his autograph or a picture, but he was turning people down left and right and almost laughing when they'd ask.

Maybe because it's effing ridic that anyone would want that POS's autograph.  He also brought out the game ball at the 2003 Fiesta Bowl.  Anyone remember that?

When I was (a lot) younger I went to a basketball camp that Michael Jordan made an appearance at.  He actually played in an exhibition game against the high school kids that were there.  (Staff vs High School age team)  He dunked on some awkward white kid that looked similar to Jason Bennett.

Good times.

Oh yeah I bumped into Derrick Lowe in the Plaza a week before he pitched his first no-hitter...against the Devil Rays...which really counts as about a three-hitter in regular baseball.

In '98 David Chappelle was selling some miracle cleaner door to door and he gave me and my former roommates his best sales pitch for about 30 minutes (which consisted of making fun of white guys).  He had us rolling.  Of course I had no idea who he was at the time.  The only reason I realized later who he was is because he mentioned he was going door to door for material and that he was going to be on the HBO Comedy Half-Hour.

He was at kona more than once.

Got my pic taken with Manny and Pedro at Kona as well.

and NFL ref Ed Hochuli was at a convention I went to.  We hit the gym together ...not really but he definitely hit the gym.
