Well, he converted like a year ago.  He used to be cool. What are some anti-christian things I can say, so he has no answer, and maybe he can see through his delusions.  I'm about to go golf with him.  We got into a discussion earlier this year, and everything I said to dispute whatever, he would make some outrageous excuse.  He was also prepared for anything I would fire at him.  For example, I remember saying something like, "well scientists figured out a way to create something similar to life, like it had the outer membrane and some enzymes or whatever inside."  He then said like, "no dude, they shriveled up, its impossible, life was created by god," completely ignoring the fact that well, of course they don't know how to exactly create life, but they've shown that its pretty much possible.  Maybe I'm wrong.  I don't really remember what else we got into, just lots of science sh1t and other sh1t like sinning.  I also mentioned some sh1t I learned from philosophy, but like he was ready for it too.  Like these fracks are conditioned to defend their religion no matter what.  I just don't understand how someone can be like "oh man, I have problems, I dunno what to do with life, oh wait I can follow god, he can help all my problems go away."  Like that's not being strong at all, that's just being delusional and taking the easy way out.

Feel free to vent about jesus freaks.

BTW, christianity is cool.  No "haterade" here.  Just jesus freaks.

Ask him how God can be just, all-knowing and all-powerful and allow all the horrific things that occur in this world.  If he brings up "people make war" bring up Katrina/Earth Quakes etc.  There is no one watching over us.  We are all alone.

*A GREAT RUMBLING OF BASS AND MUCH SHAKING*
Well growing up as an agnostic in Texas, the best way to deal with the really crazy Christians is to just not talk about religion and stuff with them. If they keep shoving the subject in your face, tell them to shut up, if they keep at it, either dismantle their arguments or get new friends. I usually go with the "get new friends" option.

Most of the Christians in the Austin area are pretty chill though.

Yea I know.  It is a lost cause.  But I really want to pwn him cause I know he's going to put the "full court press" on me, since I feel like he's trying to "save" me.  Yesterday he asked me if I need him to pray for anything.

He just mentions sh1t like "life is a test" or whatever generic excuse they give.  I remember I asked him where I'm going to go when I die, and he didn't give me a clear answer. :ohno:

This is interesting though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3VAEYEG53w

Also, its weird how everything a jesus freak says just seems so empty.

Ask him about the need for a New Testament, and why if God is all knowing and omnipotent, then he would know he was getting it wrong the first time and killing a lot of people out of spite and sending them to hell for his mistakes.  There would be no need for a "new" testament, you dumbarse tard.

Casually ask him:  "If God is all powerful, can he make a rock so large that He, Himself can't lift ?"

BTW, this is classic George Carlin.

And Good Luck !

I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

How about a classless version?  Can god create cocaine so powerful, that he himself cannot use?  Or can god create a hooker so skanky and std-infested, that he himself cannot bang?

Yeah that fable doesn't reflect well on a just god.

Also, why would God even bother condemning bad people to live out their lives if their fate is pre-determined?  What is the point if he has the power to change everything?  If he does not use that power then he is unjust.  The suffering of this world is not excused by any future life/eternity.  That does not make this life unreal.

yeah, but they will tell you suffering is apart of his plan for us, and god's plan is above human understanding.

I get so pissed when somebody says God has a plan for them, they survived yada yada so they know that God was there and is not "done" using them for a greater purpose.  Well frackhead, so he kills little kids that have never commmited a sin, have a hell of a lot more potential than you ever will, but, in his infinite wisdom he wants you to live on in a drunken stupor?  I usually punch them at this point if they try to respond, I suggest you do the same.

Well since you're going to play golf with him that gives you the perfect opportunity to abuse the Lord's name.  After every bad shot just unleash a stream of Goddammits and Jeezus Christs.

Then ask him if it was God's will that made you hit a bad shot.

So every child that dies is killed by God?  Pretty sure that's not in the Bible.

I recommend you not waste your time.  If your friend was the type of person who could be convinced by things like logic or pointing out the obvious flaws in religion he wouldn't be a theist in the first place.

We're his entertainment. God set the wheels in motion and now he's just chilling back, watching everything go down. He doesn't intervene. He doesn't help actresses win the Oscar or help athletes break records, despite the fact they may feel compelled to thank him for their own achievements. He also doesn't "let bad things happen". They just happen. Whatever crapty thing currently going on in the world today isn't due to anything other than mankind's own long history of dumbassery.

Maybe you should just leave him be and let him believe what he wants to believe.

Suddenly its atheists going militant and spewing their crap all over everyone else. At least your friend is trying to help you, you just want to try and wreck his beliefs though impossible, since God can neither be proven to exist nor disproven. Might as well suck it up and learn to tolerate other people.

Interesting read btw:

Just because you don't believe in an interventionist God doesn't mean there is no God at all.

And the case could be made that dropping people into a situation and observing how they handle it, completely on their own, would be a good way of judging people's character and judging the good in a collective people. Don't do anything to influence their decisions and don't infringe on their free will.

yes, but that is not their belief.  His fundamentalist Christian friend believes that he possesses a unique interpretation of what god is and what his goals for us are.  If everyone sort of just believed in life as a general judgement period and acted in the world's best interest this wouldn't be such a big deal.  The problem is that these a-holes have insane beliefs that they not only would like to talk to me about, but that they want to impose through policies.  I don't go up to people and try to tell them their little magic show is a joke, but if the dude is preaching to stunner he has every right to tell him he's a tard.  Stunner didn't bring it up, the tard did.
