I was looking at the Iowa State stats from last year, and I didn't realize we only had 12 yards rushing the entire game until just now.

In Big XII games, we averaged 2.6 ypc, ahead of only Nebraska

ku is ranked #7 but essentially tied with ISU for 6th.   There are many that like to point out that ku's offense was really bad last year.  More precisely our passing game really suffered until Swanson came along towards the end of the season.   This year while we lose Green, we return Cornish, a couple of solid TEs, and most of the O-line.  Through in a decent year from KM and you can understand why many ku fans believe that offensively we should be improved this year.

With KSU . . .  Shakey O-line ine last year, one QB that hasn't played since 2004 and the other who has never played college football, a suspect running game, and finally a brand new offensive system.

that is bad, but both teams will rebound from that nicely.

And this is why KSU fans don't put much stock into ku football analysis.

The early highlight of the season for me is going to be when South Florida beats ku in Lawrence and all those ku "football fans" who think the 50-yard-line is called "half-court" are shocked and jump wildly off their bandwagon because ku lost to a "directional school" at home.

Nevermind that it's a "directional school" that pounded Louisville last year and was in the Big East race for most of the season.

Bob Fescoe continues to amuse, this morning he referred to Mangino as one of the best offensive minds in CFB and referenced his assistant coach of the year award at OU as evidence.  Meow.  :blahblah:

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I think Josh Hepuel deserved the assistant of the year award that year.  That guy was incredible in Leach's system.

Cold as a mf'er.  But it was a great game.  Lots of hard hits.  Even though we lost, I enjoyed being at that game.

Bob-
On this morning's show you made a comment-

"Mark Mangino is one of the best offensive minds in college football, just
look at his Assistant Coach of the Year award he won as OC at OU".

Were you serious or just kidding around, I'm a huge ku fan but never have
thought of Mangino in that light-  look at last year's stats-

We were 10th in the Big XII in Scoring Offense
We were 10th in the Big XII in Passing Offense
We were 11th in the Big XII in Turnover Margin
We were 9th in the Big XII in Total Offense
We were 11th in the Big XII in Passing Efficiency
We were 9th in the Big XII in Total First Downs
We were 12th in the Big XII in Fourth Down Conversions
We were 10th in the Big XII in Red Zone Offense
and finally, we were 9th in the Big XII in Time of Possession

I've always thought of us more as a team that feeds off of our strong
linebacking corps and quick corners, basically more of a Defense first
mentality.

What are your thoughts?
Thanks!

Jeremy

Jeremy-

he was hired as one of the best offensive minds.  He did a ton at OU and KSU...now he is trying to do a lot with not as much talent.  I know the numbers, but mark my word, they will be much better this season!
Bob
