Prince does not equal Snyder, Jack.

Didn't we have Helm, Bishop, Beasley on the same team?   Pretty decent.

Nation,
I'm sorry that YOU inferred I was trying to say Prince = Snyder.  I didn't say that and will only say that when Prince proves that he is.  This isn't about Ron Prince.  This is a reasonable look at our QB situation through recent history.

Oh yes good example.  You mean Adam Helm the walk on?  You mean Beasley the first year frosh?  You mean Bishop the transfer? and Bishop's second year Helm still was unproven.  Bishop was a stud and Beasley red-shirted.

I don't think Snyder ever had a "plethora" of QB's.

I recall some decent combo's, one very good combo.

I don't remember who backed up Carl Straw ... I think it may have been the kid from Hiawatha, that started and played respecfully against NU in Tokyo in '92, replacing Smargesso.

Watson-Smargesso

Didn't Matt Miller backup May in '94??

Miller-Kavenaugh in '95.

I don't remember at all who backed up Kavenaugh in '96.

Clearly the best tandem on paper was Beasley-Bishop.

I'd love to go to Kstatesports.com and look up all this crap but they don't have any of this type of information.
Why does our website suck so much. :

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Actually, they have the K-State Football Media guide on line.

K-State actually has a pretty good athletic department website compared to many schools.

I'm fairly certain we always had a scout team QB under Snyder.

The point is, KSU was in a great situation...now they aren't.

Dax, thanks.  They were always tandems.

Straw-Watson
Watson-Smargiasso
Smargiasso-Garber (a truly pathetic year of quaterbacking)
May-Miller-Kavanaugh
Miller-Kavanaugh
Bishop-Beasley
Beasley-Helm-Roberson
Roberson-Schwinn
Roberson-Dunn

Well we may have had a scout team QB, but that doesn't a plethora make.

And I don't agree with your point.  I don't think we're in much of a different QB situation than we've ever been under Snyder.  We had 5 quarterbacks on 'ship.  They led us to a total of 9 wins in the last two seasons...how was that so great?

Didn't some kid from Salina back Kavanaugh up in '96? I think he actually went to my church back in the day.

Oh I did forget the year Kavanaugh started. Was it Vidricksen???  I don't remember if he was #2 that year or not...Gosh, could it be we had Kavanaugh and the walk-on Vidricksen one year??   I think the point is being made.

Adam Helm, Fr  Overland Park, KS
Brian Kavanagh, Sr  Naperville, IL

Beasley backed up Kavanaugh as a true freshman in 1996.  His highlight for the year was a 50-yard touchdown bomb during junk time in a blowout game versus Indiana State.
