Came across a broken iriver H10 and a broken Toshiba F40...NOW I AM PLAYING VIDEOS ON BOTH PLAYERS THROUGH ROCKBOX (THEY DIDN'T SUPPORT VIDEO WHEN NEW).

yeah, it's a pretty sh*tty player, overall.  Playing video + the badass interface makes it significantly less sh*tty.  I'm trying to sell that one on craigslist right now.  Keeping the gigabeat F40, which is still pretty sh*tty, but I got it for $40.

Every mp3 player comes with software (firmware) that lets you navigate files, interprets files, and just play the music.

Rockbox is a replacement for your mp3's software that is much better.

music was never as important as it was when apple could start charging people $1 for crap they already had, imo.
