Philosophers Peter Singer and Paola Cavalieri founded the Great Ape Project in 1993, arguing that "non-human hominids" like chimpanzees, gorillas, orang-utans and bonobos should enjoy the right to life, freedom and not to be tortured.
Peter Singer, the ethics chair and Princeton, who also believes that killing infants--post-birth ones mind you--prior to two years of age is not the moral equivalent of killing a human because they have no realization that there is a future instead of just the now. But apes deserve special rights. This is your new left. Just keep on pushing.
I love how Bush does one little thing and you hear "SLIPPERY SLOPE@@@!!!!!!!ONE!!!!!#!!!!" shouted like mad by the left, but its never proven. However, the constant push of the left down a slippery slope has been proven historically over the last 40 years.
