Just got back from the visiting sin city the last few days....I got to see (not play) in the WSOP.

It was a good trip.  I know most of you probably don't care so I thought I'd keep it short.

pics and video here

Who's the chick playing on the right?

Sounds like a sick trip.  Dirty beat 3-handed.  Which events did you watch?

Ha, that is Dario Minieri, the italian guy from last years wsop 2007 main event.
http://www.pokerstars.com/team-pokerstars/dario-minieri/

I watched this one - No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed (Event 31), Seven Card Stud (Event 35), and Pot-Limit Omaha W/ReBuys (Event 34).

They also had a mega cash game going on in the same room and some people had a 5-10 stack of 100's on the table.

He looks like that chick that dressed up like a guy for school in that movie "Just one of the Guys".  It had Billy Zabka in it, from Karate Kid.

Poker is rigged. :runaway:

dr00d, don't put any money in.

This is only about 3 days worth of poker where I was taking shots at the next limit. :frown:

heh, that kind of crap happens man.  No worries, just step back down to the lower level and build up your stack again.

Don't be in such a rush to grow your pile of money :)  patience, young padawan.

I just lost my ass tonight.

Yea, definitely frustrating though.  I'm a scumbag ratholing shortstacker so I need 100 short buyins for whatever level I choose, and I had made $300 the first hour, which meant I had 115 buyins, and I thought I made it for good.  However, I dropped $500 shortly afterward, losing every all in.  That was my 3rd shot, but no charm.  I have very strict and disciplined bankroll management though, so I'll just have to keep chugging away.  Sucks cause I have shortstacking down pretty good, and the skill level of your opponents have very little effect vs. this strategy...I'm just getting raped by variance every time I move up.  I mean that is $1500 after only 6000 hands that should be in my account...I'd be halfway to 2/4 NL where I could make a sick hourly, instead, I'm still taking shots. :frown:

And man that is a pretty rough but crazy hand.  Live poker tilts me so much.  What's sick though is that even if there wasn't 8 callers, it still would be set over set over aces.  I hope the rest of the session went well though.  Not much you can do when you're playing 9 droolers.

Favorite hand of the night:

Full Tilt Poker $1/$2 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

joah123 (MP): $203.60
gotigers2008 (CO): $202.05
Brenty1 (BTN): $276.95
Mr High Stds (SB): $387.75
Hero (BB): $21.00
browerkid (UTG): $197.00

Pre Flop: Hero is BB with 5 4
1 fold, joah123 calls $2, 2 folds, Mr High Stds calls $1, Hero checks

Flop: ($6.00) K 6 7 (3 players)
Mr High Stds checks, Hero bets $3, joah123 calls $3, Mr High Stds folds

Turn: ($12.00) T (2 players)
Hero bets $16 all in, joah123 calls $16

River: ($44.00) Q

Final Pot: $44.00
joah123 shows 3s 4h (King Queen high)
Hero shows 5d 4s (King Queen high)
Hero wins $20.90
joah123 wins $20.90
(Rake: $2.20)

Ship the 5 high!  Oh wait, damn.

your a crazy fooker.

I know you are going all in on minimum money, but for 8% draw on the river?  :ohno:  you are beat soundly by everything else, even the board.  LOL  :cyclist:

That kind of play would seriously mess with my mind when trying to play tournament or cash game style.

Yea, its fairly standard though.  I'm supposed to try and felt any decent draw.  Would not have called though if he had the opportunity to shove into me.  I've noticed when shortstacking, that when people call the flop, they either are very weak and cannot call a shove on the turn/river, or they are a bastard and have some kind of monster.  Almost always weak though.  I compiled all the hands where I would continuation bet, and shove the turn, which usually comes out to betting 150% of the pot.  Results were split 50/50 between a call and a fold, which would not be profitable in itself, however, its not like I'm always shoving garbage on the turn, so I won probably 30-40% of the time when they actually called.  Like, this is a completely standard hand, I think lol:

Full Tilt Poker $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 4 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

spiddler (SB): $178.10
QALL9 (BB): $81.60
french duck12 (CO): $36.35
Hero (BTN): $19.50

Pre Flop: Hero is BTN with K 4
1 fold, Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, QALL9 calls $1

Flop: ($4.50) 4 9 3 (2 players)
QALL9 checks, Hero bets $2.50, QALL9 calls $2.50

Turn: ($9.50) 6 (2 players)
QALL9 checks, Hero bets $15 all in, QALL9 calls $15

River: ($39.50) J

Final Pot: $39.50
QALL9 shows Qs Ad (Ace Queen high)
Hero shows Kd 4d (a pair of Fours)
Hero wins $37.55
(Rake: $1.95)

Definitely something that can't be used live, its just for online and massively multitabling.  Also pretty unethical to leave after doubling up, or ratholing.  However, its profitable, so I do it, no matter how dirty it feels.

Oh man...I almost want to try and rig the deck so that happens, just to see his reaction.  AK vs. his KK, K2222 board.  Right after that though I took out QQ with AK on something like an AQT5J board, so it all evened out. :)

Pokerstars is offering free $5!  Its not instant though.  I signed up a month ago, never played on that site, and I got an email saying my $5 is about to expire.

It didn't take much of daddy's money, if any.  He is going multi-millionare by the end of this year.  So yes, he may of borrowed money to start, but you have to give him respect.  He has done well in tournaments in the last year.  This has nothing to do with daddy, that is all him.

Played some craps at the isle tonight.   Was up 150, but then I got selfish and started betting way to much on the pay.. I walked away up 40 licking my wounds.  haha.  Craps is easily becoming my favorite table game (excluding Hold'EM of cours).

Is it an actual strategy game, or just pretty much gambling?  I don't know anything about other casino games, other than they are -ev.

Craps w/ strategy is only a fraction of a percent lower odds at winning then Blackjack.

Typically if you play pretty conservatively, you are good.  Min on the pass line, once the point comes down, putting money on the odds that it will hit again.  If it hit's that 4 (or 10), you get paid off 2:1 on everything you have on those two lines.  If you play this all night, the house has like half a percent on you.  However, you can get crazy and bet long shots and misc bets everywhere.

Things not to play: hard 4, hard 10 -- mainly I don't play any long shots unless I'm feeling crazy and I'm up quite a bit.  Then I don't mind losing a five once in a while. Five dollar yo (11) pays 15:1 if someone rolls an 11, but it is a one roll only bet.  So if someone is throwing down a lot of 11 on the board, I usually throw this bet down once in a while.  [I have yet to get paid off on it :p]

I play a lot of 6/8 though.  You pay six each and if one hits, you get back 7.  Since there are five ways to hit six and eight, these are fairly good bets, but...if someone hits a seven you are done.  Otherwise that six and eight bet just keeps riding until someone hits the seven.  I usually make my money back over the long term, so long as roller throws more than five times without crapping out.

It's a fun game, but the board looks scary.  Just play pretty conservative and you could spend hours there.  :)
