The Star has always been very much a ku mouthpiece, this confirms it. In the day when we used to kill ku and MU, the word was "Equal coverage for all three local schools" total bullship as usual for a KC media outlet.

Jansen's kids. When they were in highschool/college a Mark Jansen Manhattan Mercury article would read like this.

In sports today, Kelly Jansen of Manhattan High School finished first place in a cross country meet...........and Travis Jansen went 3-4 with two doubles at his community college.........Kelly and Travis both like mint chocolate chip ice cream.......K-State beat Nebraska in football yesterday (I think), not sure of score though.......

Richman wasn't exactly nice.  If you wrote him an e-mail about one of his articles, you found out just how "nice" he was.

So Howard Richman is the Jim Wooldridge of sports journalism. Maybe he also was cut out to be a "Large-gifts Coordinator" instead of the profession he chose.
