It's all relative.  NU offense was just as "insane" in its time.  OU's was in the late 80's and early, early 90's.  And Cu's offense was pretty good as well.  Regardless of the offenses it faces, good/decent defenses should be under 24ppg in conference.  We just flat out suck and it's a talent issue rather than what type of offense are we facing issue.

those stats are a little skewed.  This is  a passing O. We have more downs but so will the other team.  Other teams are going to score more than the run out the clock type offense under Snyder.

The D will be a lot better if all the rumors are true.
