Some of you may already know, but, as has become customary, the NCAA Tournament National Champion Kansas Jayhawk men's basketball team will be honored for their achievement by President Bush in a ceremony at the White House on Tuesday, June 3. After that, a luncheon is scheduled at The Supreme Court Building where the NCAA Tournament National Champions will meet some of the Justices.

A huge, but deserved, honor, as I'm sure all will agree.

At the same time, I've been given to understand that, in order to recognize the Kansas State men's basketball team's epochal achievements in 2008 (beating the best team in the history of the Big 12 for the first time ever in their 25 year old building, and winning their first NCAA Tournament game in the last 20 years!) official Washington has seen fit to confer a commensurate honor upon your team as well. Yep, Coach Martin and his squad will meet with Representative Barney Frank in the men's room of the Rayburn House Office Building on Thursday, June 5. Let me be the first to put aside the partisan rancor and offer my sincere congratulations.

Hey, it's a great time to be both a Jayhawk and a Wildcat, right?

It's very cool the 'No Child Left Behind' president gets to meet the 'Every Child Left Behind' basketball team.

Quite an honor.

KSUfans.com will become the #1 Kstate sports BBS!
You know its funny how uk fans all the time before this last year would always say how uk let them down blah blah blah when they get out of the tournament not being champions or what not, WOO HOO you won the NC big deal you guys can be happy for a while, K-State fans are different yea we want to win but we always show our support for our team ALL the time, which is why we were happy when we finally beat uk at home, when we got to the tournament, and when we made it out of the first round, cause to us, these would be called stepping stones, we are moving up and we will keep getting better with the recruiters we have on our team, so keep trying to validate how good of a fan you are and how good your Jayhawks will be this next year. Next year we might just sweep uk and when that happens come back and try and validate yourself some more. BRING ON THE CATS!

The last thing I care about when I read something from an uk fan are my english lessons. I get so pissed sometimes, I just have to type it out, sorry. Next time I write something I will try to use proper english.

Hilarious post, dobbie4ksu. Bring out the violins.  :crybaby:

"you won the NC big deal"

Nah! Ain't no big deal winning a NC. Just ask Blair Kerkhoff.

"funny how uk fans all the time before this year would always say how uk let them down blah blah blah when they get out of the tournament not being champions or what not."

Equally funny, if not downright side-splitting, is how fans of another team, all the time before this year, and including this year, would always say (or try to make out as) how uk teams that had won 25+ and 30+ games and won the Big 12 regular season and post-season tournament championships, and went to the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight and Final Four of the NCAA Tournament with numbing regularity, and beat their own team with even more numbing regularity, were failures for 'not being champions or what not'. Irony, no?

Hey, that's a good question, dobbie -- how do you improve over a season in which your team wins the regular-season and post-season tournament championship of your league, as well as winning the NCAA Tournament National Championship? Is it possible? Fill me in, would you?

Anything less than a repeat national title for Kansas is a 'failure'? (Sounds familiar.) If Kansas doesn't repeat as NCAA Tournament National Champions next season, it will invalidate the season we had this year? Really?

Hilarious.
