It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

    Ready for Maize girls!
best case scenario is if bill comes back for one more year and we don't lose a scholly in '09.
then we can sign tay and someone else in addition to wally and rodney.

    Fear the Puft
Fat-to-the-T-Y,

Dude, everyone who has followed KSU basketball since the Huggins incident has noticed this. You guys are having a similar situation to ku this year (minus that whole National Championship thing... sorry) - graduating seniors plus underclassmen who were core scoring, boards, stat guys, etc are declaring. The Walker-having-asexxy-body-and-can-dunk-really-awesome-all-the-time-reports that are coming out now dont look good for him coming back but i also read that he was skipping the Orlando Draft camp (why???). I think its pretty safe to say with him gone, this team will start two fast, undersized pgs (Clemente Pullen) a wing who cannot score (Sutton), Ron Anderson (should be the best player on the front line next year) and either an inept C who is Bennett with neck-reduction surgery, or Samuels who no one really knows is capable of.

Fatty, i say this only because this website has brought me countless hours of enjoyment, chuckles and comic relief and you and SteveDave had alot to do with it.... you will be far better in 09-10. Just deal with this speed bump year with a constant flow of booze (ive found rum and Diet Coke has only 26 cals, no sugar/carbs and will floor you after about 3-4 ... if you want to go skinny skin skin? :fatty:). Judge is the real deal and McGruder has flashes of sweetness. If you land Lat, could be second greatest KSU recruiting class of all time.  :hope:

Left the players worth a damn. Lots of "solid role players/contributers," no "Go-to" guys.  Yikes.

It looks like we could be making a pretty radical change in the way we play from this year to last year.  This year we were all about getting the ball inside because our best players were Mike and Bill.  Next year our best players will be our guards (Pullen, Clemente, Sutton, Awaji.)  Should be an 'interesting' transition..

I'm not sure Awaji and Anderson are worth a damn.

    warm up the EMAW
If Kent or Anderson can transform their game to Drahman Diarra levels I will be overjoyed.  We need a solid 10 and 10 from one of them.

Pretty much our only hope in avoiding a complete collapse.

lol.  epic, epic fail.  wooly is gnashing his teeth in california at ksu snatching awaji right out from under his feet.

We won't be good next year but at least we'll have something to look forward to.   If we get Judge, McCruder and Williams to ink in November then who really cares about next year.  08/09 may suck but 09/10 and 10/11 could be really strong.  Based on the Kelley kids comments the coaches realize this too and are kind of counting on the same things.

We have to still remember that it's only Martin's second year.  Never fun to take a step backwards but it was kind of inevitable when you've got the best player in the country your first season.  We got exposure with Mike this year and that will pay off hopefully with a top 5 class come November.  Would have been nice if Walker would have stuck around for a second year to tie us over but hey one strong year followed by a down year and a top 5 class beats the Doc Sadlers and Greg Mcdermits of the world any day.

The suckage next year was pretty much cemented when Huggins first class of Colon, Bennett, and Young pretty well bombed.  Martin has actually done a pretty good job of containing the suckage by getting a quality transfer like Clemente, take him out of the equation and we'd really be hurting.   All in all we've got a solid nucleus of young players that seem to enjoy Manhattan (Anderson, Sutton, Pullen, Samuels) and we've got some star power potentially on the way.  Beats previous years when we had no solid young corp and no star power on the way.

This stuff happens when your two best players are freshman and both left early for the draft.  Its all about progression.

That's great and all, but here are martin's last 5 LOI's

Anderson
Gilbert
Awaji
Herrera
Hendriquez.

That's not helping anything.

He has been handcuffed by Mike and Bill leaving, plus he has one year under his belt.  Not every kid is willing to sign their future away to a guy who doesn't have a track record, no matter how "cool" they think he might be.
Me thinks you're just playing devil's advocate, but I'll play along.

Well, yeah. That's the problem with having clown martin as HC.

No. We are just going to suck next year, and it is going to suck. Our 2009 class isn't the savior either, mostly with the dud we dropped in 2008.

I like Anderson, if for no other reason than his rebounding.  I can see him averaging 10/10 next year, or at least somewhere fairly close to that.

He still needs more weight, but at least we have Greenawalt.  <---Secret weapon.

Serious question:

We're down one with one possession left, who do you want to take the shot from this current roster?

I'm telling you, this team will be worsier than any wooly team. It may be better than 02-03.

Expectations for big men are too high.  Look at the big men on other teams.  The difference between what they've got and what we've got really isn't that big.

Keep in mind we're coming from a year when we had Michael Beasley at the 5 and Bill Walker at the 4.  No matter who we have playing those positions next year it's going to be a huge disappointment.

I'm gonna say this one time and one time only-

YOU GUYS ARE NUTS!

Just hold on to your horses and wait until my official Big 12 08-09 preview coming out soon.  there's reasons to hope, there's reasons to dream! we can go far in next years tourney, the roster is stacked with purebreed studs who will make huge impacts all over.  I love the naysayers because it just makes it that much sweeter when we're cuttin' down the nets next season in san antonia.

what do you think? martin doesn't know what he's doing? take this crap to the ku boards! jez!

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.
