Maybe you suck at chess.
There's no doubt about that but I'm really good at Pitfall.

Why Did pissclams Choose To Make This A Thread?.....

because Kietz has been talking about it all day!!!!!

I just don't think it is that big of a deal.  But I have been wrong before.  I guess if the players that can't cut it aren't happy about it being made public, then it could be a problem.  But I haven't heard any remarks from players about it yet.

Sorry- I haven't been listening to 810, at work at the moment.

If you really want to know why I started thread feel free to ask, thanks and have a great day!

I never said I agree with it or that I don't.  I don't really give a crap.  Just wonder why he chose to do it, that is all.

Publicity.

The End.

Works for me.   And did Prince make this a story or is this a media-fed story?  Maybe that why I'm getting all fired up.

could also be to motivate the guys to not make the list next year and be in better shape when they report to camp so the entire state doesnt know that they havent been working as hard as they should have.

Because if you can't pass a little conditioning test, how is he supposed to trust you to help him turn around a team that has only won 9 games in two years. I LOVE it. If you can't handle the embarassment of having it made public you better make sure you can pass it.

Another thing to consider.....Maybe RSnyder did the same thing. We just don't know because he never made anything public.

What is so confusing here?  It's public humiliation, of course.  I personally don't see anything wrong with it.

Obviously if some people pass and others don't, they are in better shape, no?

I'm confused that a brand new head coach who has basically said that every position is up for grabs, and who supposedly is el_leader numero uno, has failed to motivate several of his starters enough to show up to day one of practice in good enough shape to pass a conditioning test.  i'm confused that he has chosen to bring their failure to the media instead of handling it internally and motivating them through internal channels, ie in the locker room and via teammates.  i'm confused that throughout this summer he's stressed leadership yet where were the leaders on our team, why were they not pushing their teammates to get their asses in gear?  i'm confused that you can't figure out why i'm confused.

i really don't think this is that big of an issue, so finally, and as the name of this thread indicates...

Well said.

I also don't understand how people can say the test is a non-issue, but Prince feels it is imporant enough to release the names of those that fail to the media.

Umm... did I say anything about Prince doing a good job of motivating his players over the summer?

I told you why he is chosing to release the names.

I'm confused why you posted your original thread, if you just wanted to complain about Prince's ability to lead, why didn't you just post that Prince sucks at motivating his leaders over the summer.

Just get to the point, don't hide behind innuendo.

What if mjrod put all posters on this site through a spelling test?  Would more than 14 fail?

kietz said snyder did do the same test but players who failed had to show up at 6am the next day for conditioning and that their position group had to run sprints after practice.

I went to the State Spelling Bee in 6th grade.

I went to a regional spelling bee sometime in grade school.

I lost in the second round.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I watched a spelling bee on ESPN.  Yeah, those are some well adjusted kids.

I think spelling bees are stupid.
