I'd have to ask this question.. what form of gravy are we talking about?  Roux based?  Vegetable based?  Cornstarch?  Reduction gravies?

I usually make roux based gravy (equal parts flour and butter cooked until a paste is formed) then add stock and seasonings.

There's is a flour based one.   They add flour to chicken stock.
