Our game at Baylor is going to be monumental.  I never though I'd see the day, but here we are.

It's our first conference game, on the road (thanks again, Big XII).  We'll probably be 2-2 at that point...with luck, we'll be 3-1.

That game's going to tell us a lot.  Baylor's improved...a bunch.  This ain't your big brother's Baylor team.  Going down there to Waco is gonna be a challenge this year.

If we lose, then we're gonna have a long season in front of us, and we'll be lucky to get to the 4-8 I predicted.  It's bad news when Baylor has caught up with ya.  (Not because it's Baylor, per se, but because it's just further proof that the former walkovers in this conference have improved substantially while we've been sliding).  If we lose, you're gonna get your first serious rumblings about Prince from your average Cat fan who just knows that Baylor's supposed to suck.

If we win, then I'll be encouraged.  The significance of going on the road and winning your first conference game, even at Baylor, should not be discounted.  That'll make me feel a lot better about OSU the next week and even Nebraska the week after that and ku later on.  If we win down at Baylor, I'll be optimistic about our chances of going bowling.

You realize that Baylor is installing a new offense.. one they aren't familiar with.

If KSU is "lucky" to be 3-1 headed to Waco...we're pretty much FUBAR anyway...

Disagree.  If one game decides the entire season, you wouldn't play the rest of them.  How we might respond to a loss to Baylor is the key, not simply losing to Baylor.  If we lose, we lose.

    The very best.
It won't decide the season, but if we can't beat Baylor then 6-6 is the BEST we can do. And that sucks.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Disagree again.  There's still six winnable games on the schedule AFTER the Baylor game.  Come on fatty.

If we lose to Baylor I doubt we win the National Championship but who knows stranger things have happened. GRCOAT.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Weren't they installing that same offense last year?  So most of these guys have already had 1 year to look at the offense...  I realize that they prob. don't have the personel that they wanted... But they have a decent Qb...  This is almost a non-issue.

No one said it'll decide anything.

They'll look a lot less winnable after a Baylor loss.

The point is not what effect the Baylor loss would have on the rest of the season.  The point is what the game at Baylor can tell us about the quality of the team and how it may perform down the road.

My point is, if we lose to Baylor...we'll know we have a poor team.

It's like last year after getting ripped apart by OU, we knew it was going to be a long year.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Baylor will be installing the sperad offense, kinda like what TTU has.  Seeing as this is their first year and that they don't have the talent that TTU has to work effectively with it, that's going to hurt them a lot.

If we beat Baylor, then we beat Baylor.

If we lose to Baylor, State fans everywhere are going to be pissed the hell off and the players could lose a lot of confidence.

So is Ksu.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Stop with the predictions !  Lets see how the players look first before you predict doom and gloom.

if this game was at home no one would be worried (a lot like the okla st game).  fact is first road game is gonna be tough for a first time coach no matter what.  and baylor did take ou to overtime at ou.

for me, the marshall and okla st games will tell me the most (about our bowl chances this season) because they are must wins.

ive always thought that the games against the cupcakes the last 2 years really told us something about how bad our team was.  in the past we could literally do whatever we wanted to those teams but the last 2 years they almost had that real game feeling to them.  the only one from the last 2 years that didnt have that feeling was north texas last year.  if we can get back to that point ill feel a lot better about the direction the team is headed after the first two games even if we struggle later in the year.  if we struggle against illinois state and florida whoever its going to be a long year.
