it just gets worse.

Just wait until he's really desperate.  I said it when he was hired: succeed or fail he ought to be good for a few laughs.  Clearly I had no idea just how many ....   :D

I wish there was a way to check that quote, I'd bet he rarely went to the games...

I'm sure it could be done, just like his 9/11 story was proven to be fraudulent.
Fill me in... what was the 9/11 story?

When RussRob moved on to DC to attack the Pentagon, RP was in his office at Virginia and could hear the ambulances taking the victims to the hospitals.  It causes him to remember each year that football is just a game, war is real life, etc.  He gave this speech last year in the press conferences before the game around 9/11.  Nobody asked him about it - he just started telling the story.

I actually thought this thread was going to be about hiring Bob Krause as the new Athletic Director.  Krause has the exact same credentials to be hired: he's huge KSU fan!  (With the added bonus of being a "yes-man" for Wefald.)  Nevermind that Krause doesn't know anything about running an athletic department or have any connections in the athletic field.  Apparently those kinds of qualifications aren't important at KSU.

Bunch of frickin' retarded monkeys running things over there...

Over 100 miles, but Ron probably has really good hearing.  Like, scary good hearing.

I think we did/are going to hire Krause, but it will be short term.  Which means in a couple years we'll probably be looking for a Pres and an AD.

The Kansas Board of Regents hires the Pres, correct?

When was this announced?  Where was the search committee?  Who did we interview?

Just saw on the Mercury that this might be true.  Uh...WTF?  We hired from within a guy with no AD experience because he is married to Vanier's daughter?

I am going to enjoy my next telephone conversation with the folks calling me for a donation.  This is a Ron Prince hire.  The title of this thread is DEAD ON.  Are we going to start hiring everyone based on their purple credentials?  I hope weird Robert has enough furniture to fill the President's house on campus when Wefald leaves.

What a bunch of &@#%ing rookies and bush leaguers.

It hasn't been announced, but the Krause as a short term solution has been the prevelant theory/scenario.  I'm sure the Weefer was/is the "search committee".  And Wefald has talked about retiring.  The assumption is that Krause is a stop gap because any real AD wouldn't take this job knowing he'd be working for another boss shortly.

My master plan would work as follows:  Weefer retires after the '08-09 basketball season is done (about April after a Deep tourney run  :hope:).  New Pres is hired before June 30.  A new AD before September.   Ron's gone after the '09 season (either because he leaves because he doesn't get along with the new guy or gets canned by the new guy).  Then the AD leaves Frank and MBB the hell alone because it would be too early to do anything.

Here's a couple of things to consider.

They are biding their their time on the new AD hire.  Epps is managing the day-to-day office stuff.   Bob Krause is in the process of exploding Tim Weiser's strategic "vision" and implementing his own which is vastly more aggressive.   The earnest search for a new AD will likely start sometime in the weeks following the Final Four this weekend.   BK probably won't be the next AD, but I hear BK no longer wants to see a guy with "Emporia State" ideas at the helm, he wants somebody that thinks a lot bigger.

Oh, but I hate to break it too you guys . . . but the next AD hire will likely have to agree to give Prince at this season and next season minimum.

    Overkill. It works.
I try to like Prince as a person, I do!! It's just really hard too though....

And of course I support him as the ksu head football coach. Because that's just who I am. :ksu:

You nailed it. It's hard to like him though, with all the military loving crap.

The day that happens will be one of the worst in KSU history.
