I sent Jason an email:

Dear Jason:

Great work; it must make you laugh knowing you have so many K-Stater's by the short ones.  Please continue so I can read round after round of, "Here's the email I sent Whitlock", on various K-State bulletin boards.

Sincerely:

Ah, Im pretty new here... so yeah.  I dont know, do you think the things he writes are appropriate?  Is it fair to be so biased in his writing?

If people read it and react it's appropriate.  That's his job, he does it well.  Angry e-mails to Jason are like another gold nugget to Scrooge McDuck.  He loves them and just throws them in his huge tower full of gold nuggets and treasure (Crowns, septars, coins, bags with $$ on the side, etc.).

I guess we are going from different angles here.  I agree that he is doing his job well.  Lots of people read his articles.  I would assume that almost all of us here have.  I'm not questioning wether or not he does his job.  The question I pose has more to do with morals I guess.  Sure, the majority of the Kansas City Star's readers are probably ku fans who love to read anything negative about K-State. But why does he have to continously bash K-State? Is he seriously a bad enough writer that he can't get anyone to read his articles unless they are wildly demeaning?

His morals are to provide excellent readership for his employer in exchange for salary.  What do morals have to do with what he writes about KSU?  Columnists jobs are to piss people off and write things that make people think and react.  It's why he plays the race card constantly on both sides of the fence.  He is never actually taking a stance on any topic he's ever written about he's just writting what he knows will get a reaction.  As long as he does these things (he does them well) he should feel very good about his "morals".

lol. I was just wondering if he really does have a thing against K-State or if it's just something to write about.

Skydog,

On your do over make sure you include mention of Jason's suspension without pay in 1998 from The Kansas City Star and 810WHB for the incident in Foxboro when he hung a home made sign out the window of the press box with a homophobic epithet directed towards Drew Bledsoe.

For a journalist that uses his position so frequently to cast character judgements of other individuals and groups of people, some might find that quite ironic.

If you want to prove that Whitlock is an idiot, you can use his column from last Friday where he declared that KSU was the second coming of the Fab Five and Wisconsin would be a mere speedbump on our path to a rematch with ku.

And if you want to prove that I'm an idiot (and many others here), you can use the same logic.
