Loyal fans of the purple and silver (and sometimes black, while dreaming of lavender) Purple Power Hour needs your help.
As Executive Producer, decisions have been made to revamp the show from a "news broadcast" to a more light hearted, behind the scenes, one on one show that is more entertaining for our viewers. If people want to see highlights, they watch the news or even GoPowercat, not PPH (I'm not ashamed to admit it).
Due to this, we are looking for some story ideas for our show which will air at the end of next week. Anything you've been wanting to see or would enjoy dealing with a Wildcat athlete or coach or team in general, let me know and we'll see what we can work out in the future!
while i appreciate the idea of revamping your show to cater to what viewers will/won't watch, i don't agree with the idea. the reality is you're not in school to make viewers of your show happy (i hope), you're there to learn how to do the sports news/espn type stuff (i assume). believe it or not, i think it's more important to grow your current format then it would be to change formats and make a sports themed Daily Show (wow, great friggin' idea).
my advice- expand on your current format, just get better at it, independent of how many viewers you have. you guys don't need to sell marketing time, yet, enjoy that and just get good at doing the standard format stuff. if all that is stupid, then my suggestion is to do the sports themed daily show (or at least incorporate a segment into your current format).
fwiw, i thought you guys did a really good job last year.
