KSUFANS Official Opinion Survey of the Message Board

This thread is for you as members to describe your experience on the board in regards to how it's moderated.   I'm asking for objective criticisms and specific instances of where you think we've gone too far, not gone far enough, what we've done well at, and what we could improve on when it comes to handling issues you've seen with the message board.

I'm asking that the general sarcasm be kept to a minimum as I want constructive feedback.   The other admins will not post in this thread, this is strictly for users to let us know about our moderating.  However, I will remove posts that are irrelevant.   I'm interested in understanding what you see in the message board experience.  If you have a specific question,  please PM me or one of the admins.

I realize there are problems with connectivity, the front page of the website, and perhaps a few technical issues such as getting unusual errors logging in, or viewing posts.   Those should all be directed to technical support thread, or through e-mail or PM to me or one of the admins.

If you are a lurker, feel free to add a post on here on what you see.   You don't have to post anywhere else, but would like to see what your thoughts are.    I personally believe the admins here do a great job of moderating the site, but it's hard to know if there are issues or problems, things we don't see that you and others may see and we'd really like to know.  We appreciate you taking the time to come to this site and hope you will continue to do so.  I think we offer a unique experience where fans are much more free to interact and talk about the issues at K-State without having to follow "a company line."

I'll jump.  I don't contribute much if anything to the board but there is a continual thread of racism in many posts which do not sit well with me, and by extension I suspect it bothers a good number of others.  I simply think that the point of the topic can be addressed without it, as it should be.  I realize much of it is tongue-in-cheek, or sarcasm of a sort, but it only perpetuates the issue and is often offensive.  imho

Long time lurker here giving an opinion here even though I rarely post...


I think the board is fine the way it is and I don't feel like any changes need to be made. It would suck if this place turned into another Scout or Rivals site.

I agree with the name changing.  If was funny once or twice but has been over done.  Feel free to modify there avatar's/sigs or anything else to make fun.  I think the name changing should be left alone.

Add to that... I can understand name changing of someone that has a username referencing K-State or whatever because that's just lame and not clever. I think BMW and MissChanandlerBong should get to keep their names because of the legend that those names now carry.

I do enjoy the username "Horrible ku Sock" fwiw.

First time poster here:

I like the name changing.  It does NOT get old.  And the less moderated(censored) the better.  As in, great job so far imHo.

The only threads threads and posters that should be deleted or muzzled are spammers.

constructive feedback........... hmmmmm....... i like saul's point on more vulgarity, etc...  i sense you (mjrod) had to keep it moderated closely for the lukers that rarely visit and have no idea what the site's all about.  but if it becomes a yearly pay site i'm down for more classlessness and how.

will there be more "why not chalmers" threads @ new ksufans.com???
