Gonna be tough to take.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Wisconsin is good man. Really really good.

I just don't see it.

Really sad both of us are up this time of day.

Wisconsin is very talented.  This is going to be a battle of wills.
If KSU can play fast, they win.
If Beasley and Walker can exploit single man coverage, they win.
I think if KSU scores 72+, they win.

On the other hand:
If Beasley or Walker get into foul trouble, we're done.
If the refs allow Wisconsin to be ultra physical inside, we're done.
And since this is our MO this year, if some outside shooter has the game of his life,we're done.

Fast matters because it is out of their comfort zone.  It also allows us more opportunities against a scheme that relies on limiting possessions.

They also play in one of the lowest scoring conferences.

"I just don't see how we win today. "

A pearl of wisdom.  You win in college basketball by scoring more points than the other team.  If K-State scores more points than Wisconsin, I am predicting a win.

Really, it's just that simple.

I've got money riding on that as well...so it better happen!

Wisconsin wants to muddy the paint, and force K'state to hit threes.  So I would start Ron, Mike, Bill, Jake, Clent.  Put Ron on the low block and pull the rest out to the perimiter and let mike and bill take the statues to the hole all day, good ole AAU ball.  Between Ron and whoever's driving to the paint there'll be two guys to rebound or jake, clent, and mike/bill in the corner for three.  If three's aren't falling then throw in sutton for ron, and just play a defensive game I guess.  That's all I can think of, and that's why I'm sitting here on my couch.

And even if it is close at the end of the game, Wisconsin is boss in that category. :ohno:

I'm very excited though!!! And I'm trying to stay confident.....this is the biggest KSU basketball game since I was born. :eyeseeyou: :ksu:

I think that we can win.  Why?  Because we have two of the most 10-15 talented players in college basketball.  Bill Walker is not as consistent, but his talent is easily top 10-15 in NCAA.  Beasley?  MOST TALENTED.  It is up to those two to show up and the rest of the team to BLEED and SWEAT out a victory.  We need a Ron Anderson to step up every game, we need Clent to not completely melt down every game.  The team is good enough, it is just a matter of fulfilling potential.

There is no way we just aren't good enough the share the court with Whisky.  We just can't get frustrated and melt down or else it will look like that.

I expect to be up by about 8 at half, and then it'll be up to Mike/Bill/Jake to pull out a late one or let it slip away.

Fat3 is thinking the correct way.  Using his brain instead of his heart.  Defense mechanism.  I've used it so many times it's second nature.

they will pack the paint until we prove we can hurt them outside.  we hit outside shots it will free up beas to work inside and give walker room to drive.  hit early outside shots and we've got better than a great shot to win.

Your Clent hatred is still permeating your soul.

Clent is one piece, you forgot about Pullen.  And I think a strong defensive element from Sutton would be great with their slower teams.    Young and Sutton could easily make some fast break points off TO's with their quickness.

I think we can win it only because we're faster, and we have to really keep at them.   If we can get a 10-15 point lead at the half, our slow starts in the second half won't be so bad.

I think this game is going to be decided by the referees. Of course KSU could play out of their minds while Wisky plays their worst game of the year or vice versa but if both teams bring their A games the refs will have a huge impact on the game. KSU fans should pray for a tightly called game. If the refs let both teams get really physical then it's going to be a really ugly, grind-it-out type of game and that is exactly what Wisky wants. They'll be a able to pack it in and collapse on Beasley and if that happens your only hope is getting hot from three. I'm not saying it's impossible for KSU to win a physical game against Wisky but quick whistles (unless they're on Beasley of course) will definitely favor KSU.

My prediction is a KSU victory. Beasley will score 40+, with at least 15 coming coming from the charity stripe.

If he played for ku we could bank on this.  Hopefully as the tourney goes on he gets more star treatment.

qft, just has to make sure he doesn't get the ticky tack reach in fouls.

there is a reason Wisky is always winning under Ryan.

1) they will have great composure and poise (same thing but I like getting wordy)
2) they will not turn the ball over.
3) they will not take bad shots and will hit the shots they take.
4) they will not get into foul trouble because Wisky is one of the few teams out there that plays defense with their feet.  They don't reach and they are never in foul trouble they just stay in front of the player they are defending.
5) they do not give up offensive rebounds.
6) they will hit their foul shots.

Just think of some of Knight's Indiana teams...the good ones but w/ not quite as much talent.  Well, Ryan has as much talent as a number of very good teams Knight had at Indiana.

1) KSU is undisciplined.
2) KSU is impatient.
3) KSU can't hit a three to save our life
4) KSU will get into foul trouble.

Our entire team has to mature overnight to beat the badgers.

my prediction: KSU 71 Wisky 67   :koolaid: :adored:

Apparently you missed the part where beaz and walker can go around anybody, so staying in front of them isn't going to cut it.  If they just "stay in front of them" then they will combine for 50 and 20.

If watching that USC game you didn't automatically think the team had grown up and had flashbacks to the ku game then you didn't watch this team at all this season.

The USC reminded any KSU fan of the ku game.

But that is a one-off.  The game is over.  We have a new game.  The question is whether we approach this game and play this game and come out of this game with the same result.  That will be difficult.

Everything else is people speculating/sizing up match-ups and talking around that central point.  Whisky is what they is, we are the inconsistent basket case.  It matters much more what we bring to the game.

Wisky isn't that great.

Not impressed by them.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Bo Ryan's mantra is that he want's them to MAKE more free throws than their opponents ATTEMPT.

We must attack the rim.  We have to draw fouls and get Butch in trouble.  They only go 7 deep.  If they some quick fouls on the front line we can own them.

Ron Anderson could be a key.
