You can't be racist and like basketball.
That my friends is the MUCH MUCH more plausible underlying reasoning behind all that we do not know.  I well believe that were this 1989, the same people would be saying the same things about Snyder.

Mods, can we ban the next person that tries to compare the actions of Ron in 2005 to those of Bill Snyder in 1989?

Thanks, and God bless.

If not ban, can we at least line them up for a Mule Kick??

That would probably be more appropriate.

Comparing the reactions fans would make is essentially comparing their actions.

No one would be pissed about weeding out the remains of an 0-30-1 team.

Atleast not when their expectations are around 5-6 or 4-7 with an occasional bowl trip... But now that are expectations are much higher why are we pissed "about weeding out the remains of an 5-6 team"

How about the fact that Allen knew he probably wouldn't play, was ineligible to transfer to a 3rd D-1 school, and had to be cut loose so he could be picked up by the NAIA school...it doesn't sound dirty to me.  There has been talk of him transfering for months, was his schollie pulled or was he released? Is there a difference?

He said something about knowing the message he was getting...was that message "hey you haven't been holding up to your end of the bargain effort wise, you want out, lets do something that will make us both happy"? or "you probably won't get time at QB, how about postion X, we could use you there"? and he didn't like those messages??

How about the message Momma wrote on the evil Sneak board about him always looking for something better and his multiple transfers and visits and transfers always hoping for greener grass??

Just wish the kid luck and lets not pile on Prince about it.  :blahblah:

I think it's more along the lines that Webb has some issues with Prince.   J-MART eludes to the issue of Prince being in love with Freeman, and that may be true, or had some play in it.

However, the person who needs to do the work is the player.   The coach sets the rules, provides the support, and the athlete needs to do his part of the bargain.   Since it's clear there is more the bargain than just showing up for practice, the games, and school, we can pretty much assume that other factors are in play.   I wouldn't be too surprised to see that personality issues probably had something to do with it.

If anything, it sounds like Prince is sending a message.  Archer said it clearly at the beginning of Prince's tenure that Prince pretty much lets everyone be who they want to be, dress like they want, be more relaxed.  That didn't mean that standards of conduct aren't in force, or expectations have been lax.  Sounds very much like someone who knows how to run a tight ship.  Any of you that have been in the military know what I mean.   I have watched General Officers come into command and remove people that others thought "Oh this is a great guy" only to learn he and the new General didn't get along, or that maybe something else was going on we didn't know about and the new General decided this wasn't going to work out.

That's the way life works, and believe it or not, some of you people still in college havent' seen this part of the world.  It goes on all the time and you either sit in your room and pout all day, or you get off your ass and make something good come from it.   Things happen for a reason, the issue is, how do you respond to adversity.

Webb will be just fine.  I'm sorry it had to happen this way, I thought he was a good athlete and had the potential to be an Ell Roberson.   For whatever reason, be it his own or someone elses, it didn't work out.  It's not like the entire program hinged on him.

This will be the only thing I'll post on this topic that isn't rooted in facts:

Sure, Allen made some mistakes. But there are plenty of kids on the rosters who are still making comparable mistakes, maybe even worse. Just seems kinda convenient - in this case - to enforce rules when it'll mean less clutter at a key position. You'd think a new coach would want to be consistent with his actions because people will be watching. But, based on conversations I've had, I'm not certain that's been the case.

For the record, all I've reported is factual.

Just my thoughts.

There's obviously something more at play here than Webb wanting playing time.
You don't leave a school that has treated you well (see his comments about the fans), 3 hours short of graduation, to play NAIA ball in Texas, on your own accord.  I could care less about how this impacts the fball team, that has nothing to do with it.

Ron Prince needs to realize that fans of K-State football are not his fans, we're fans of the players and the program they represent. When you treat one of our own like crap you need to answer for it.

" So how can you say Prince does this to everybody?  "

not everyone, but I also remeber 2 commits that he pulled schols on.  I apologize, i do not reember the names.  but he pulled their schol offers after they had already commited and about 3 weeks till signing day.  one ended up at boise state and the other guy only had one other offer and that was cu.  but, his cu offer was given to somebody else after he commited to KSU.  either way, both kids got their offers yanked at the last minute with little or no explanation, the offers were yanked right after Prince got commits at those guys positions who were better.

who is the starter?  answewr is nobody.  Webb did good for us last year.  he started 5 games and won 4.  He even was the hero vs Mizzou.  He may not have started this year but the cahcnes are he would have played cause our o-line sucks and one wb was bound to go down.

This whole thing looks to me like qb's are getting shoved to the side for freeman, without Freeman having earned the job.  this is very bad.  If you scrwe over well liked players and promote somebody who hasn't earned the respect fo the team your offense is going ot have serious moral issues.  I thought we were going ot have a 6-7 win year this year, right now I am thinking I should cut that number in half.

Oh really Fusker.....err I mean Cobra.

Could it possibly be that Freeman is better than Webb?
Could it possibly be that Evridge is better than Webb?
Could it possibly be that Meier is better than Webb?

The answer is Yes............even as a freshman.
The answer is Yes............he started much of last year.
The answer is Yes............he WILL start THIS year.

congrats catfan28, you can name all of our qb's.  now for your next trick can you tell me how many games we won last year and the starting qb's for each of those wins?

and btw, if Prince yanked webbs schol so he could put a true frosh ahead of him then prince is mentally retarded, but it's nice your always walking behind prince patting his butt playing damage control.  your gonna have a busy year i think
