It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I am not in a wait and see mode anymore.  prince pulls this crap and the players will quit on him.  AW wes well liked from what I can gather.  The article said that he was just 3 classes from graduating, and Prince aid F*uck that,  the kid can't play.  he can go get a diploma at southestren texas international college.

Prince is a fuc*ing a-hole.  No excuse for this.  And this aint the first player or recruit he has screwed over lik this.  how much kool aid is left in the bottle before you realize that this guy is a prick who is gonna take us down?  you wonder why he can only get 2 stars, for the most part or worse....it's cause the word is out on Prince and sh*t like taking a schol from a senior who is about to graduate is only going ot make it owrse.  You think moms and dads will want to send their ocach to play for KSU?  god frobid the kid isn't as good as they thought, there goes all the work he put into college, bye bye, screw you, find another school!

Purplecobra.... Man are you angry.   Calm down the story doesn't indicate anything that happened to cause Prince to remove the schoolie.  All you can do is speculate.  The only other person who has left the team is Ro.  So how can you say Prince does this to everybody?  No offense to Webb but I see him as 4th on our QB depth chart.  Prince probably asked him to switch positions to add depth to the TEAM .  He left Indiana because of playing time how do you know he isn't doing the same thing here.  Do you want to know the reason why we can only get 2 star recruits?  There are two reasons. The first reason is that the  Kansas State High School Athletic Association is BullS*!T.  I live in SW Florida and down here the high school football teams have 3 weeks of spring practice and I full game against an opponent in there class ( ie 6A ).  They also hold two hand touch summer camps where the teams practice plays and team work.  In Kansas you play in the fall that's it done.  Yes you have summer weights but that doesn't help learn the game.  The second reason is the man just took over the job nobody knows how well or how badly Prince will do.  As a young man wanting to play D1 football are you going to take a chance on a new coach and hope the team is good.  Are will you go somewhere that is established.  There must have been some reason Prince pulled his schoolie wither it was academics or just the detriment to the team because Webb wasn't going to get playing time.  Only Prince knows.

What will stuff like this do to our graduation rates?  Seems it would be wise to have a guy graduate that is on course..

So, we now have a QB that can't stay healthy, a QB that has won....1 game?  or no games at KSU in his playing time...and a true freshman...

Awesome.

I hope there's more to this story.  It's f'ing stupid to get rid of a player that has performed well on the Big XII level - especially a QB.

Someone should send Prince a copy of the 04 NU game...maybe his obsession with NU will make him rethink this decision.

Another thing - why the hell wasn't anybody mentioning Ryan Schmidt leaving?

Wasn't he a likely OL starter?!?!

I don't think its a very smart move with Webb.

But, with every new coaching regime comes stuff like this ... its just the way things go.

Allen Webb is leaving Kansas State after his football scholarship was taken away.

Only three courses shy of graduation, the senior quarterback will transfer to Texas College, an NAIA school in Tyler, Texas.

What kind of a coach takes a Senior student's scholarship away when he's 3 credits shy of graduation?
A leader?

yeah, I don't know if I like the direction we are headed in.

Being stricter than Snyder on team rules is not a good sign for this program.

I don't like the looks of this from this side of the story... But simple truth is, there are always two sides and we are only going to ever hear this side.  I don't think anyone can say how big of a loss this is unless they are inside the program. It's clear that there's been an attitude/motivation problem with this team for the past two years. Maybe Webb was part of that problem. Maybe we'll see Moreira out as well. Wasn't there rumors about him leaving/ having an attitude problem?

"We need that extra scholly for some more quality recruits!"

Jeez, at least think things out here.  Prince has scholarships open, without having Webb leave, if he wanted to bring someone in late this fall. Webb's elligibility is done after this season so his scholarship would be open anyway.

My bet here is there is more to this story than one article mentions.  Seemingly there wasn't the same outrage when Webb was *off the team* before the Spring Game.  Why the change now?

Whatever Webb did to be excused 3 HOURS SHORT of graduation would, IMO, have to be huge, so huge that we would have heard rumblings of something that he did.

We didn't.

FBWillie-

Which means absolutely nothing because there have been no results posted based on Ron Prince's recruiting.  If anything, this move should be getting applause as it opens space for this great Top 100 prep QB RON PRINCE RECRUITED to play over the formerly two star Alan Webb.  Who is the better player there based on this great star system!  Freeman.

Who cares if that is actually the case, we're talking recruiting rankings here!

Actually, no one is talking about recruiting here... I'm pretty sure the person that said "We need that extra scholly for some more quality recruits!"  was making a JOKE.  I don't know if you have noticed this, but several people on here are cracking on prince for his recruiting methods.  I understand that sarcasm is sometimes hard to read on a forum... perhaps this will help.

Is it clear yet?

I'll just assume you as well were being sarcastic.

[sarcasm] Jeez, at least think things out here.  Prince has black herritage, and his wife is white, if he wanted to be racist he could have said something to Webb about not liking white women or something.

I have a very hard time accepting this on face value, that being that this is all the asshole head coach.    If Webb had not done something that warranted his scholly getting taken away he would be defending himself and he's not.   He is being conspicuously silent about WHY he's had it yanked, don't you think?  He's not telling any more about the specifics than Prince, which to me says that Prince is doing just what I'd hope our coach would do, show restraint and allow the student athlete his privacy.

That my friends is the MUCH MUCH more plausible underlying reasoning behind all that we do not know.  I well believe that were this 1989, the same people would be saying the same things about Snyder.

"He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire." -- Sir Winston Churchill
