We do know that his scholarship was taken away.  I don't think Webb said... Hmmm... No, I don't think I want it anymore.

From his perspective, I'm sure it did feel like he was told "Don't let the door hit him on the way out".  Isn't that pretty much what taking away your scholarship means?  I know I would think they didn't care if I played for them or not if they took away my scholarship... The one I've had for several years.  That's a pretty harsh burn in my book.

Look crap like this is going to happen with coaching changes.  For whatever reason Prince and Staff didn't think that Webb was a right fit for KSU.   So he took his scholarship... Big deal.  Happens all the time in business.  And before you try to say that this isn't a business... realize that these coaches jobs ride on the success of this team.  If they feel that there is something that is hindering the success of this team... they won't care if you have 1 hour left to graduate... your gone.

Sucks it had to be Webb, but I'm relieved that this staff has the b@lls to do controversial things if they think it's necessary, even if it ends up being the wrong decision, our chances would be much worse than having a coach with no conviction or backbone.

I don't think you and I are disagreeing on much.

They took his scholarship, they didn't ask him to take a reduced role in the offense, they didn't ask him to step aside for the youth movement, they kicked him off of team.  Turnover is a Sophomore QB leaving to pursue other opportunities.  Burning someone is ripping up their scholarship when they have 3 credit hours left before graduating, in late July, and telling them not to let the door hit their azz on the way out of town.

Yeah, I'm sure that's the way it happened.
Explain what did- TIA

I have no idea and neither do you.  If I tried to speculate, I'd look like an idiot.  Much like you.
There is no speculation in my post, if you can't figure that out it's not my problem.
If I ran out of ammo I'd resign myself to personal attacks too, you're forgiven, MCMW.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

So why is this still a debate?  Can you admit that his scholarship was taken away against Webb's wishes? That's all the previous poster was stating, and that is all I'm backing him for.  If you want to get into the reason it was done... That's when we can get into speculation.

Regardless.. It's 6:00, I'm off work...

Read above.  I think there is all kind of speculation in your post, but whatever.

Sigh....  unless Jeffrey Martin wants to fill us in, we have no idea what Webb's wishes were.  I can think of several circumstances where it would be perfectly fine with Webb for his scholarship to go away, but then that would be speculating.
