I really have a hard time considering that an upset.  I expected to win.  Not in that fashion. But I did expect to win.  To alot of people this was an upset I guess.

KSU fans thought we could win.  No one else thought we could.

And most KSU fans probably thought we could just win.. not blow them out of the water.

Was there anything interesting in the Insiders-only KSU preview?  Aside from "strong, tough, fast, disciplined..."

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
Please. None of you "expected" to win.

I thought we would still lose at halftime.

I was extremely wasted, but I was convinced OU would march up and down the field in the second half with a ton of short passes ('03's like...only weakness).

I knew of ton of people that didn't go because "we had no shot"

A few did.  Most of thought we COULD win.  No one thought we'd win the way we did.

I was fortunate to be watching the game with a dozen OSU fans and a half dozen OU fans.  None of which expected KSU to win.  I cashed in on a lot of bets that night... and made a lot of OSU'ers extremely happy.  Of course they had to play the "we beat you earlier in the year card" but it didn't phase me at that point.

I had clients calling me on Sunday saying congratulations to me.   I could barely speak on Sunday, and my voice went out all day monday.

It was probably the most incredible win in Snyder's tenure.  We should have been the national Champions for 1998.  Damn Sirr Parker...

Damn Mike Stoops and Brent Venables.

I made a total a$$ of myself during the OU game, b/c I was drunk by the time it started just to "get through it."  I was watching with a couple of KSU grads, a couple of ku grads, and an OU grad.  By halftime, I was on the phone with my brother shouting incoherently.  I sobered up enough in the last quarter to drive over to Manhattan to hit the Ville and celebrate.

I just remember being in traffic with every OU fan hanking and screaming Boomer Sooner as they held up the #1 sign...   I just kept flashing back 1 and 3 and mouthing the words #13!!!...   Funny tho... I dont' remember seeing any of those fans on the way home.  Hmmm.

I told everyone that would listen that we were going to win that game.  To me it was all about matchups.  Our pass rush vs. their OL, and our run game against their over-playing D.

Of course, I don't expect anyone to believe me now.

what if some of us dont consider it an upset?  we had the talent all year long to be that good of a team.  i think we were at the worst equals with ou that year but robersons injury among other little things kept us from that.  i dont consider it that big of an upset.

i wasnt but that doesnt change the fact that i thought we had a 50/50 chance to win and at worse 60/40.  people seem to forget how good we were that year.

We were VERY good that year and I really didn't think we had a chance. To be honest, I was hoping we would just not get embarrassed on National TV. But as I tailgated at Arrowhead Stadium.......I noticed how loose the purple fans were. We were heckling the OU fans right next to us. I could tell that most of the Powercat Nation had that "we have nothing to lose here and everything to gain" attitude.....and as I was walking into the stadium, I couldn't stop thinking that if our players we're in that same kind of mode.......Maybe...just Maybe, we might give them a contest.

Obviously after the first OU TD......my hopes took a hit......but when we went up 14-7 on that Terry TD catch......I felt the momentum change. And i kept thinking........Lord....give us a few breaks.......and we can keep this momentum going and we may just upsest this team.

When Sproles took that halfback toss for a TD........I thought our section was going to tear the stadium down.

And the rest was history.......the OU fans started leaving at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Probably one of the most special nights in K-State history.

And I'm glad I was there:D
