They are coming.  What do you guys think?  Are you down with getting Niked-out?  I sure as hell am.

All hail Huggins!   :hookem:

I'm not a big fan of the "cat claw marks" or whatever that were talked about.

I need to see them to decide of "cat claw marks" are cool or not.  As long as the new unis are Mayo and Walker approved, I'm cool.

Have you seen them?  They may be pretty sharp looking.  They may look like crap.  I suggest we all wait and see one way or the other.  I think Huggs is trying to make changes -- and not only to the uniforms -- just to put a stamp down that the status quo for KSU's hoops program is not acceptable and it is going to change, and everybody had better be ready.  A new coaching staff.  A new look.  A new era...

Exactly snart.  Also, one of the things I remember Huggins commenting on is how he wants to take the word "Kansas" off of the top part of the jersey.  I bet he feels like it's too close to what the Jayhawks have.  I would not mind seeing "State" or "K-State" on the top part of the jersey instead.  Michigan State simply has "State" on theirs.  I think that would be pretty slick.

    The very best.
Huggins can use any jersey he'd like and I would approve

In all seriousness, Cincy easily had the best unis in the NCAA's.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Adopting black uniforms will make lots of criminals want to play for us.  Not good.  Not good.

More Criminals = More Wins. (MCMW)

I hope that we have black uniforms + black socks + black headbands + black shoes + black armbands + black towels + black warmups.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

MCMW

I like it.  Somebody get the t-shirts going.  Black t-shirts with thugged-out Wiilie on the front.  Maybe have Willie in a Tupac-esque stance with a bandana on.  On the back where the jersey name would go "MCMW".

We're known nation-wide as "K-State". Why not have it on our jerseys?

Actually we're known nation-wide as "The school Michael Bishop played for"- that's probably too long to put on a jersey though.

Maybe the claw idea isn't too bad, i wonder if they would consider doing a lobster claw instead of a cat claw though.
That way the entire student section could do the Nano Nano thing from Mork From Ork and feel connected with the team during games.

This is one thing Coach Asbury had going on during his time here, though the Reebok unis needed some work.  We also did black when he was here, got drilled by Illinois in Champaigne, as well as silver at home, once against Michigan State.

I know, but Hugs would do it tastefully (i.e. not making the 'K' gigantic, etc.).

Yeah, good point Koug.

Part of this post was that there is just something about being able to harken back to the Asbury days and remember things like listening to Illinois beat the snot out of us while in sculpture studio in West Stadium back in the day.

Hiring Huggins and being on the cusp of what should be much higher success than we've seen in years makes sticking through the "armpit years" of K-State basketball that much more worthwhile.

FAN, I actually kind of liked the 99-00 jerseys a bit more than the 96-98 ones.

99-00 was an ugly, ugly season.

I've gotta say...I'm thrilled at the thought of whoring out to a company that makes its money by selling $150 basketball shoes sold at 95% profit made by child laborers in third-world countries - the same company that stalks twelve-year-olds who can stroke the mid-range J.  I mean...now that Nike no longer considers K-State basketball irrelevant.  Oh yeah...and replacing our school color with black - I'm pretty stoked about that too.  Seriously - other than the money, what's so wonderful about being another one of Nike's bitches?

Don't get me wrong - going with a big Nike deal is the obvious choice here.  I'm just not going to get excited about it like it's some wonderful company.

You sound like you need to quickly give all of your earthly belongings to the poor, move to South America, and build huts for the indigenous peoples for the rest of your natural life.  Only then will you feel truly clean inside once again.

Lets see:

Telecom providers pimp the kids so mom and dad buy them cell phones ... lets not take any money from All tel.

Dodge wants you sell you a 325 horsepower Hemi that gets 12 MPG in the city ... take down all the "Grab Life by the Horns" signs in KSU sports venues.

Beer makes people screw ugly chicks, fart, get into fights, become alcoholics ... ban all Coors ads and strip Fred Bramlage's name from the registers.

Insurance Companies jack up peoples rates, deny claims etc. etc. etc. ... remove Farm Bureau, Allstate etc. from the sponsor rolls.

Yep.  I would like to see companies like Nike employ more Americans, so I must be a communist.  If you were paying any attention at all, you might realize that I didn't claim that they were doing their third-world employees a disservice.  The working conditions are bad, but I'm pretty sure that they get paid relatively well and that they can quit any time they like.  Call me crazy, but I'd like to see Nike pay Lebron James half as much and hire a few hundred people in the US to make their shoes.  It's true that almost every company has the same tactics (especially in clothing and shoe industries), but nobody talks about how much they love Alltel - people really seem to love Nike for some reason.

But really, the free market trumps everything, right?  Labor unions are the worst too, huh?  Will you sit and smile contentedly at the beauty of free-market capitalism as what's left of our manufacturing jobs go overseas?

Please do not let this go into a political discussion.   I'd hate to move this thread because of political views.
