I haven't noticed a change other than his % is a little higher than it was.

I felt like it was always a pretty quick release...which is how he's gotten away with it being so low.  I'll watch for a chance...honestly hadn't noticed it.

I've always felt like he had a really quick release which is what enables him to get his shot off without being blocked.  I really like Brown, he has really long arms, and think he has the potential to be a great defender as he garners more experience.

could be why he cant hit crap now.

In all honesty, this could be true.  He hit a nice shot off the dribble Sat.

Its slowly gotten better all season.

Most disappointing is that he seemingly can't hit a lay-up.  Could be that he makes them into much more difficult shots than they really are.  I don't mind smaller guys compensating when they get in the lane so they don't get capped, but sometimes they take it to extreme and end up making what should be an easy shot very difficult and this seems to be the case with Fred IMO.

He really needs to work on getting more of an arc on his shot, however he feels comfortable doing that.  He'll never shoot a high percentage with a hard line-drive shot.

2 if i remember right (pull up j and a 3)

Fred is a scorer, and he knows how to find a way to get his shots off and get to the rack. As pointed out in other posts he cant hit a layup right now, which he should be able to figure out once he adjusts to the college game.

going forward... he's the perfect guy to have on the off-wing for the open three... i just hope we have enough firepower in the next few years for anyone to leave him open for the shot

it is hard to come off the bench late, usually cold, and expect to hit shots. its not hard for bill or mike, but this is fred.

he'll adjust and get used to being a role player. the limited time on the court, and more of it, will prep him more.

fred will turn out fine.

he doesn't jump.  I do think he'll be one of those guys who will drain everything by his junior year.

He was pretty good at finishing around the rim early in the year.

True, he's probably just going through a transition while adjusting from getting Colon-ed and Kent-ed during practice so much.

I've only noticed Brown improving his shot selection to shooting when he's WIDE open with no one coming at him.

He's got a release point lower than Dan Quisenberry's.

Not that half the posters here know who the Quiz was.

it's like you don't even watch games.  He still shoots whether or not something's there., (I like this, BTW)

His release is still bad, but it's improving.  (key point.)

No.

Never saw him pitch but I remember signing a giant card for Quiz at Galyan's sports in Leawood around the time he was diagnosed.

Most of his playing time early in the year wasn't televised down here, but if his release point is noticeably higher than it used to be...  :runaway:

And missed how many others because he had to change his shot?

How'd he shoot that night?

I don't think any shooting technique would have avoided a block at Tech.  It was just a freshman mistake to take that shot at fault there.
