hello friend. i have a copy of photoshop that a friend burned onto a cd for me. it's on the cd as an executable file, along with a .txt with the serial number. how do i install this, ?

he burned the whole thing, i installed it before one time. but it's been years and i can't remember how.
the file is 164,380 KB's!!!

also, it's a self-extracting zip file, if that helps.

Doood, you should have gone the route I told you. If he gave that to you that long ago the version is probably old and it is much easier my route, just mo.

ok i've made progress. i pulled the .exe onto my desktop and then right-clicked on it and then choose Winzip, and Open with WinZip. Inside, there are a bunch of files- here's a pic-

now i'm not sure what to do next

open the text file with the code first, copy the code to clipboard so you will have it when prompted during setup. Oh, and yes, execute the setup.exe.

There are very easy ways to obtain CS3 (the latest and the greatest). If you're interested, let me know.

You need to extract the entire ZIP file to a folder. You can't excecute setup.exe when it's still archived (zipped). Click "extract all", choose a folder, and then run setup.

I discovered/started using GIMP not too long ago. It takes a little while to learn, but I like it.

I have paint.net...it's not too shabby for free and legit.
