I have to hand it to the squawks, they're brilliant in their own way. Fake injury (Front page of the phog)reports give a built in excuse in case they lose to us(that and the refs of course)...and if they win, they can huddle around each other in a self-validation circle jerk, cause they won with gimpy guys....

Brilliant.

Oh, and apparently, my jayhawk coworker said that Arthur injured his vag in practice too.

This is nothing new.  Self has always talked about how "beaten up" his team is.  The injury excuse is pretty standard lingo.

In his defense, the ku fanbase is completely nuts and has ridiculous expectations.  We joke about how ku chokes all the time and then they run here to defend their eliteness.  In reality, it eats at them that they haven't gotten it done in 20 years.  He needs a series of built in excuses and the occasional tear jerking charity story to maintain an acceptable level of job security and personal safety for him and his family.
Welcome back, Bill.

Wow.  I always though ku was "elite".  I never thought that KSU's basketball program was your measuring stick.  Nice to know that expectations have dropped like a rock on Red Hill.

Funny thing is that ku has had the players to win the NC over the last twenty years while KSU was getting players that are the left overs from all other d1 schools.  I think KSU has met expectations with the players they have had while ku has not.  Now that we have players of the same quality ( ku still ahead of us though ) we feel that we are back.  KSU 78 ku 72

Won an NC. Something the teams like Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina have won a combined 7 times in 20 years.

I'm not saying ku chokes by not winning the NCAA Championship EVERY YEAR. It's when ku loses to Bradley, Bucknell, Rhode Island, Syracuse...those are chokes.

Losing in the Title game, or in the Elite 8, or Final Four is just....Kansas.
