It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Saw that this morning... If you ask me, we're only about five 3 star guys and two 4 star guys away from every other year.  Big deal.

Say your predictions are correct...

we pick up another
five 3 star guys = 11 Three stars
Two or three 4 star guys = 3 or 4 Four Stars
currently have ten 2 star guys.

I don't know about you, but that's pretty damn close to what our 2004 recruiting looked like.... wasn't that in the top 25?

Yeah, I'd be happy with that.

But so far, that isn't what we have.

I'm starting to like fatty's way of looking at this.  It seems much less time consuming than actually waiting for the entire class to be signed and then seeing how they play on the field.  Maybe we should apply this approach to the season as well....let's go ahead and send the Big 12 trophy to OU and book our bowl game for sometime in late August.  Who cares if its right or not, at least we can complain about it....NOW!!!

Well you can look at half of our 04 recruits and say they're all sh1t as well.

Outside of the 04 class, that's a decent point.

Most north teams outside of NU has similar classes.

we have 17 guys already commited and couldn't come close to accomplishing that.  I am not sure what you think is going to happen to our class.  All of a sudden Prince is gonna " turn it on"  please.  I shudder to think whats going to happen once the season starts and we start losing games not to mention Lamark Brown, our best recruit and only 4 star is most likely headed someplace other than Manhattan.

I also don't think we can hang our hat on the theory that Snyder did so much with so little and yada yada yada.  Look at the staff snyder had and look at what we have now.  If I see Morris dance on the sideline this year or talk about " db love" or give piggyback rides I might just have a breakdown.

As it stands right now this class is 70% complete.  Can Prince turn it around with the last 8 commitments?  Can his last 8 commits be better than his first 17?  I don't think it's going to happen but I am sure that he will give maximum effort.  if I had to guess I would say that Prince didn't understand how hard it would be to recruit to KSU and that this class is going to be really bad and  after this class is signed the staff will hunker down and go over everything and re-think everything and how they recruit.  I know everyone loves to talk about the diamonds in the rough and all that but if prince puts 2 classes together in a row that have more 2 strs and lower than 3 and higher then we are in huge trouble.

I don't understand this philosophy that just because you've never been in D-1 College Football that you cannot win.

Somebody go tell Jim Tressel for me.

Agreed. I'm not whining about the assistants. I just had higher expectations for recruiting because Prince is very charming.

No pun intended?

Seriously, recruiting is a long way from being finished.   We're about to enter a very volatile period where recruits will get more attention, especially after camps.   Of course, when it comes to recruiting, our success/failure on the field will alter the recruiting direction.

not a good sign for us then.  I think this year, with the talent and the new coaches we will lose more than win.  We better hope to god Prince can sell them on the future

And you base that on what?

You're throwing a lot out here with little, if any substance.  Let us know why you believe Prince will not be successful?

little substance?  ok, lets try this for starters.  for the past 2 years KSU has been the worst program in the division.  We have had some serious talent issues mixed in with injury issues.  The injury issues are more of a good luck/bad luck thing the talent is what it is, compared with years past our talent is low.  you can argue that it isn't, but you would be wrong.

Now we got new coaches that are bringing in new schmes and a much more complicated playboo.  Do we have the players to run it? nope, all our players were recruited for another system than the one they will be now in.  You can basically use 2 transitions as experiements.  Callahan and Nebraska and Weiss and notre Dame..  Which fits our situation more closely.  Callahan came in, goes to the wco after several years of bad recruiting by Frank Solich and Craps out his first year.  or Weiss, the previous coach layed the groundwork for him by recruiting all kinds of great players suited for the offense the new coach wanted to run.  OK, this should be obvious as to what situation we are in.

so, average /below average talent + new more complicated system+ inexperienced  coaches

what do you think this equals?

A national championship.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Anyone else notice the lack of general KSU knowledge but the references to NU over and over?

I noticed one referance to nebraska.  I admit, I tend to know  things about teams we call a rival and play every year.  maybe yourt head is stuck in the clouds and the only team you follow is ksu and thats fine, and thats your choice.  me, I actually like to know a thing or 2  about the teams we play.  i find as a fan, the more i know, the more fun I have during the season.  maybe ignornace for you is bliss, to me, I like to be informed.  If you can think of anotther  trasnsition that more closely resembles ours than Nebraskas then go right ahead, but from where I sit it's darn near identical

Rant 1: Not once did I mention anything about diamonds in the rough; actually you summed up the basis of every argument I've ever had by saying "As it stands right now this class is 70% complete."  :ustupid: What leads you to believe that prince won't "turn it around with the last 8 commitments"?  This isn't EA Sports edition of NCAA football....   Name one 4 star recruit that verballed with a KSU before June and actually committed.  Name one.  Count Juco's if you want even though no one would really consider them a true 4 star.  Face it - the meat of this recruiting class won't likely come until OCT-JAN.

Rant 2: "The injury issues are more of a good luck/bad luck thing” While it is partially good/bad luck, it's actually more about strength and conditioning. You can attribute that to coaching and discipline if you want.

Rant 3: I almost didn't even respond to you as you proved your ignorance by comparing Nebraska's old Offense to KSU's. Good job moron.
