    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I was there.  As I said in the other thread, Wooly certainly had his faults as a coach, but he was also seemingly the most unlucky coach I've ever seen.

That Tech is a bad example of this.  Tech had scored about 10 possessions in a row against the 2-3 without any adjustment, so it was no surprised that they hit a three on the final possession.  Then, he had a chance for a final play, he had Peete, Martin and Harris on the floor (combined 11-14 from 3) and he runs a play for Clent Stewart.  Poorly coached game imo.

Good points.  It all blends together for me.  What an era of basketball.

it's brilliant coaching...no one would have ever suspected it.  There were countless games in the 04-05 and 05-06 seasons where in Rusty's above synopsis you could have substituted the name of the team for another and slightly tweaked the scenario, with the same conclusion/outcome.  Clent's play, imho, is embodies JW's "closeness".

I may be mistaken based on games like this but it seemed like this was not the only game that he would draw up a play and when the final shot was taken you'd be like "WTF didn't _________________(insert name) take the shot?"

What made me quit on Wooly was that he kept giving the ball to Martin to create a shot at the end of games.  Martin has hardly ever created a shot is an outstanding set shooter, yet Wooly would get Martin the ball to shoot a bad shot/turn it over.  Huggs showed how to use Martin in the clutch against UT last year.

You should be more upset that Wooly couldn't get Cartier Martin to create his own shot in three years.  He couldn't get anyone to do that, really.

Oh come on.  Fred Peete never had any problems creating his own shots.

An all four star front court.  JUCO top 20 and Rivals 150 guards in the back court.  =  Bubble NIT team (left out)

 :yuck:

BTW.  Larry Reid could create his own shot.

To be fair, Wooly also failed at getting Cartier to stop smoking so much grass during the season.  One of Huggy's first actions as coach was to put a stop to that.
Welcome back, Bill.
