George Brett is a first class dickhead.

Really shows the age of this board when you guys have taken your hatred for ku and directed it towards a living legend.

he started it

i guess you've never met the dickhead.

when I said "he" I meant George.

yeah, it was for the guy who calls him a living legend, so he can't be a dickhead guy.

Well as inexcuseable as that comment was, George Brett will always be one of my sports favs. I do remember back in the day when he was a fan of Jack Hartman's teams, but when a team disappears for a generation loyalities shift.
And Brian McCrae actually signed with the sqwawks, so I'd be burning the baseball.

    Check me out!
George Brett has been attending ku games for as long as I can remember.

This is not news.

Calling #5 out for going to a Big Monday game.  You're ridiculous, what else is he supposed to say?

If Ken shows up for a game in Manhattan will you settle down?

I have no problem with George being a ku fan.  To the unaffilliated, ku is the most likely choice for a KC resident.  KSU has itself to thank for that.  Lack of KC focused marketing, lack of longterm vision, half-ass execution of facilities projects, poor PR management, and numerous embarrassing failures - both in sports and administratively.  That's the formula for a complete and total surrender of the Kansas City market to ku.
Welcome back, Bill.

He'll forever be my one true sports hero.  Game 3 against the Blue Jays in the 85 ALCS when he went behind 3b and snagged that ground ball, then threw past Damaso Garcia's head to Sundberg to nail Garcia at the plate will forever be the greatest baseball play I've seen live.  Playoff pressure, down 2-0 and Jays were threatening to take game 3.

I love the guy.  And yes, He used to come to see KSU play when Jack was the coach.  He was also there to cheer the Cats in the old Big 8 Tourney.  And at the 03 Big 12 CCG.

it's actually not his, just has his name on it, but not for long.  they're changing the name of it in the near future.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

most likely because he's been a dick to so many people that they've stopped coming.

And the food sucks.

    I'm very curious, you see.
Rudy, what's with all the carrying on and fussing about George Brett? He was good at the hitting and running and the catching, you see. Theo, you need to show some respect for your elders you see. I wonder if my dick would fit in his gap tooth smile, you see.

i thought the food was pretty good there.  as was the service.  as were the ice cold pint glasses they serve their draft beer in.  overall, i've had positive experiences at the place.  parking down at that end of the plaza sucks and that's one of their problems but i don't drive when i'm down there so it's not an issue for me.  overall, I think the place does ok. the owner is just looking to go a different direction.

I liked George Brett the KC Royals baseball player.

Off the field and in retirement I have heard few stories of positive interaction from people who have been around the guy.   Plus last night it looked like he'd been hammering the sauce and had the shakes and cold sweats.

You see Rudy, I would like to know that myself. I am Curious Cosby, you see so I get all curious about the goings on and whosits and the scuttlebutt and the what's thats, you see. I think it might have to do with the flavor of Jello Pudding pops that my wife ate during her pregnancy, you see.

This was the only 20 seconds of that crapty game I caught last night.  It was a pretty frightening sight.  Gotta give him credit, though, he was a Royal his entire career and he stayed in KC for retirement.

Its only good for happy hour.  I didn't park down there either.  I could walk to front door though 810 was closer.

"If you live in Kansas City, you have to cheer for ku".

Quote of the year right there, who would pull for a farm school when you can pull for a perenial final 4 team and BCS bowl winner in ku?  George Brett is baseball legend, you all are truly pathetic
From my online dating profile:  If you like what you see, dont be shy…I like to think myself a pretty outgoing guy. I enjoy the anything outside, like camping or playing sports. Most describe my personality as sarcastic, but once you get to know me, youll know its all i...

He used to be a KSU fan when we were the big dogs in the conference.  He is bandwagon, just like majority of other ku fans.

KK just called ku the best team in the country without a question.
