So as this site grows in popularity, I must ask the fans community a question.  Many push for greater exposure, what with the Doom signs, hoping to shed a brighter light on this place many call internet home.  In a place that so enjoys poking fun at the so called powertards, will a confluence of these so called tards coming to this site end up ruining the special uniqueness that exists now?   Currently, the board offers a nice blend of sarcasm, inside jokes, ridiculousness, and a sense of humor.  It's a board that doesn't take itself too seriously, which I think we all enjoy.  Will a run of tards tarnish what is cherished so dearly now?  Or will said tards conform to the stylings of fans posters?  This is the question facing this site if/when it grows.  I mean, there have been many cool things ruined by the adoption of the masses, thus taking away its coolness.  I am interested to hear your opinions.

(Look at me acting like I'm some kind of longtime poster.  Yes, I am merely a young cub when it comes to post count, but I am a longtime lurker who finally decided to post on rare occasions.  Despite my posting youth, I still feel this question warrants discussion.)

good point, but most of the thin skinned tards will open their stupid mouths and get ridiculed to the point where they will no longer post or adopt the power of the dark side.

The first influx of tards was ksustunnerno1 and crew when gpc went on a ban spree.

I found the board after seeing what must have been some of the early Doom signs.  Before, I spent much more time over on the kstatefans and GoPowercat sites.

As best I can tell so far, the tards get weeded out by being ignored or ridiculed and mocked relentlessly.

That's pretty much about it.

Also, I think in the premise of your question, you are making the assumption that the site will be overtaken by them.  Or that the uniqueness of the site will be ruined by the presence of powertards.  IMO, (JUST IMO) they're fun to have around as long as you can keep their numbers in check.  That's the key, quality tard control.  And as Javert pointed out, few last long here because of our extensive population control measures.  Not quite the tactics employed by the Chinese government, but close.

Besides, it's always fun to have someone else around to point the finger at other than yourself.

most of the "Tards" can't take the truth or are just stupid and meltdown over rediculous things and would get shot to pieces here and wouldn't stay around long anyway.

Good points.  So since there are so many tards that will be driven off, then I guess this board will grow very slowly.  Only the strong will survive the douche/dumbass/take life too seriously filter.  It's good that way, however, the numbers will probably stay low since most people won't make the cut.

I get a lot of complaints from people about this message board every week.  I'm not sure if some are real or not, but I encourage any fan of KSU to comment freely on this board about the various subjects and topics.

The key thing to remember is that you can be a good fan and still find humor in your team's disappointments.  I've never been someone that believes you should toe the line of "Everything's good" or if a team is doing horrible "Give it a chance."   Everyone has an opinion, and this board allows people to post those opinions and defend them.   Some opinions are valid, some are not.   The key to remember is that when you post it on here, you should be here to defend it.

A lot of the threads disintegrate into tit-for-tat smites and it ruins some threads that have good discussions.   However, there are enough posters on here that really want to have a good discussion to keep it on track.   From an administration point, the admins do a very good job of restraint and allow the message board discussions to flow.   I understand that a lot of people have to sort through the riff-raff to get a valued discussion, but even in real life social settings, you don't go to a "K-State Football Party" where all you do is mingle and discuss the various decisions of Prince and company in the best possible light.  No, you talk about this, that, watch people make fun of others, and generally attempt to have a place where your passion is with others of the same interests and let it run where ever it goes (unless fatty shows up.. then people watch him carefully to see if he makes a motion to his belt and sets it off.)

Now, the only thing that would make this better is if i could use the internet to pour beers while you're reading.   I'd be a rich mofo if I could do that.

I have a very positive outlook on life.  I also have a realistic outlook.  I spend time on Wabash.  I like good serious discussions, but my favorite thing about this board is the humor.  I'm also a big fan of the realistic outlooks on our teams.  All is not always well and people here recognize that.  I think the best thing about this board is it doesn't get caught up in this ridiculous nationwide message board pissing match of having the "classiest fans".  If every message board did nothing but keep it "classy" all the time, then message boards would suck and be very boring.

I guess that's the just the cost of doing business.  There's no way to be totally Powertard-free.  Hell, that's how alot of us started (myself included) until you realize there has to be something better as far as internet message boards go.  Some people outgrow their Powertardism, some don't.

I'm fine with the Powertards coming over here, they're pretty much like the ku dooshes who come over just to see what's going on.  I love how the Powertards are petrified of the Octagon of Doom.  Doom signs are like a mysterious and powerful God that the Powertard villagers are afraid of.

Then ther'e the Powertard "crossover" posters who post the same crap on all 3 boards.   :curse:
