Use almost any antivirus that isn't one of the mainstream anti-viruses.

Then, when you think you have it cleaned up, be sure to use hijackthis and have the log analyzed.  Usually if there is one thing, there are likely more, many of them are extremely tricky to get rid of.

Norton flat sucks.  Every time I give it another go, it trashes up my windows files to the point I eventually have to format and start over.  It never uninstalls correctly.   AVG is pretty damn good, and free.

go to internet options and clear your temp, internet files.  that should get rid of it, it's advertising.

do all your virus scans after you've booted in safe mode.

I wish there was a firefox-esque torrent downloading app.  Half the movies I get(at least since Demonoid got shut down) have trojans hidden in them.

It got to the point that I just send them straight to my linux box to watch them.

The apps are independent of what torrent you download. A site like Pirate Bay has comments. Read them first. Also, download from reliable people (axxo, for example).

Firefox is a great choice, it's what i use and i never get trojans.
