First of all, I think Ron is going to implement more of a spread-type offense this next year. I think its pretty obvious that he is loading up to air it out next year. How many JUCO wr's have we signed?

Next and probably more importantly, I think he just wants a placeholder as a coach, someone who will obey his every command and allow him to call plays. I think the OK State game showed Ron that he may know better than anyone else how to points on the board and that he needs more control over the offense. If he brought in a real coach with a real resume and experience, he couldn't have the control that he wants. Two Cents

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
Prince doesn't need a staff.

Dude doesn't need to let mere mortals get in the way of his master plan.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I thought Prince was always a huge WCO devotee.

On paper Brock is more qualified than Franklin.

Silver lining in all of this is that we shouldn't be losing another assistant coach to the NFL or another BCS program again while Prince is head coach.

That's encouraging.

They weren't exactly lining up for Brock after he got let go from North Carolina, even with that high flying attack from Hofstra and Temple in his back pocket.

I kind of like the strategy, in fact it's pretty scary smart.  Aim low, keep the name real obscure, and then nobody will try to lure them away with a "head coaching salary" and the promise of the "head coaching job after a couple years" at the end of the season.

JFC.  Who didn't score on OSU?  yeah, Ron is a f*cking genius.  He just knew that he'd lose Franklin so he smartly hired Dave Brock last year (to replace the other coaches that left for "promotions") because what a better QB fit for the QB spread option than a 6-6 statue QB.  I think we're loading up on WR's because the only proven receiver on our roster is Deon Murphy, at 5'10" 170lbs.

We're pretty much f'd if our entire offensive system changes.  That's more time spent learning a new system for a turnover prone QB and an offensive line that can't handle highschool DL stunts.

In the Topeka Capital paper today, recruit Logan Dold said he was told that
Dave Brock would indeed be our new offensive coordinator.

So expect an announcement this week sometime.
