that they have decided to omit (or slur to the point of omission) using articles in verbal communication?  as in "would you like apple" instead of "would like an apple".

i hear it everywhere lately, and it is a disgusting speech pattern.  symptomatic of the decline of america, i suppose.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

I've never once heard that, but how does it compare to the omission of personal pronouns in written communication?

very diff., imo.  the former is annoying and sounds stupid.  the latter saves time and is well regarded among better written communicators.

Alright, but do u actually just sit down and read for 4 hours that is what my dad does.
good god no! i am usually in and out of the bathroom in 30 minutes, tops.
