Anyone else hear that Webb was transfering?  Seems to be rumor at this point, but I asked J-mart about it, and he replied "stay tuned"

A guy at KSF.com with a post total of 3 started a thread over there about it last week.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

wouldnt he have to transfer to a non division 1 school or else lose a year of eligibility since hes already transfered and since hes a senior that doesnt make much sense.

That doesn't necessaryily mean that he's transferring, tons of articles about QB's have been written without any mention of webb...  If you find an article mentioning his transfer however, let me know.

Webb is gone. Too bad. Seriously.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Damn, that sucks the Webb is leaving. This probably means that Freeman will not redshirt. Because Evridge will continue to take hits like he took last year and Meir is injury prone.

So, it looks like Webb was probably shown the door by Prince, right?  Why would Webb want to transfer for his senior year?  Why wouldn't Webb think that he could contribute to KSU football next season?  He's been able to make big contributions the past two seasons.  We've seen that Webb's family is a classy as they come (it's as though they're from Nebraska or something).  So, unlike before, we would expect not to hear about the circumstances of Webb's departure from his family.

I keep hearing a million rumors about him transferring.

I heard a million before spring practice, but he still attended, and still took snaps in the spring game.

He's still working out with a lot of people on the team, and still living in Manhattan.  The time is starting to run short if he is planning on transferring.  I honestly don't think it's going to happen, because there's not really much point in transferring to a D-II your senior year.

I'm new to this site so hello boys and girls.  In regards to this post I have a good friend who seems to be good friends with a number of players and she told me that once Coach Prince took the job he wanted Webb and Moreira to vacate the premises.  From my understand, (and again she is a college kid) both said that they wanted to stay on the team no matter what it took.  I'm not sure if this clarifies anything but I would imagine that if Webb did something to screw up this summer his chances of being here in the fall have decreased drastically.

Go Cats!

Any reason why he wanted Webb and Moreira off?

Thanks for the welcome.  In her words it was in regards to character issues and poor choices on and off the field.  Somewhere in there she said that Moreira popped positive on a piss test but she didn't go into details.  I know that they each had to do a number of "individual" workouts during the spring and early summer to get back into the good graces of the coaching staff and the best "story" to come out of this:  During the Spring Semester Moreira had to have someone come and wake him up everyday, walk him to class, then he would have someone else escort him to his next class, and so forth.  At the end of the day he was required to email Coach Prince and tell him what he had learned in that day's classes.

To me the best thing about Coach Prince is that he's a character coach and I absolutely love that about him.  We have some of the same friends and they all tell me the same thing and that is that he will NOT allow players to piss all over the KState tradition and those that have worked so hard to get this program where it is today.  He's also big on letting the current players know that they are not responsible for the current success of the program but more importantly the CONTINUED success of the program.  Too many of the kids on this team love to live off of what the Cats used to be as opposed to making their own place in Wildcat history.  I have a great feeling about Coach Prince and this new staff and after talking to a couple of players they really like where things are and where they're going.

I look for a good season, I really do...  GO CATS!

I've heard rumors webb's gonna switch positions and stay w/ the team for a well kept secret injury though i can't say who the player is for the simple reason i don't have any idea who the player is.
take it for what it's worth

I've also heard a theory on the botched punt return against CU.  It wasn't that he screwed the pootch and bumbled the punt, but that he was carted off the field like he was dead, spent the night in the hospital and then had a beer in hand the next evening laughing about the game.  That to me is a definite character issue.

In all fairness guys Moreira has done some good things.  So don't put back at punt return any more... problem solved,  I don't recall too many mistakes at WR last year.  As for not wanting him back after last year, you're joking, right?

Webb changing positions only makes sense at three spots - WR, RB or DB -  I have no idea what kind of a hitter he is or how well he can catch the ball - and we don't really need any more WR... Do we?  RB, he's certainly tough enough and we'd have the ability to run a couple of trick plays....   Who knows.

for as highly touted as he was out of florida and him playing as a true freshman, i had visions of kevin lockett type play.  instead we a few nice catches every once in a while and a rediculous ability after the catch to run around forever, get nowhere, and fumble.

I guess that's everyone's problem; You guys are relying too much on the hype on these guys out of High-school.  Most people here would agree that we have pretty solid depth at WR.  We have 3 returning recievers that had mulltiple receptions that average over 10 Yards per... Not bad.  Are you telling me that Yamon Figurs should be considered a better Reciever because he wasn't as well known out of highschool, even tho he had half the recieving yards as Moreira?  Sure, Nelson is a stud, but is he even more of a stud because no one expected it of him?  If this argument is proving anything it's that you never know how a player will pan out for you until you see the #'s.

As for attitude towards performance... Laughing off a loss with a beer in hand. yeah that sucks to hear... But attitude can be changed a heck of a lot easier than athletic ability.  He's not a lost cause by any stretch.

the only way anyone can be a disapointment is if they had some expectations.   yes we have depth with him, but seriously he played as a true freshman and hasn't improved one bit since then.  he's at best a 4th or 5th option behind rb, te, nelson, and probably figurs.
