Where would you rather have the biggest game for your football program in 4 decades??

At home, where maybe 4,000 of the other teams fans can show up?
At a neutral site that means more money, but 35,000 of the other teams fans in attendance??

Damn BMW is one hyper-defensive little bitch.

Sad . . .

That's been over for quite a while now.

It seems to me like you K-State fans are all just jealous that Kansas is getting all this national recognition.
You'd be right. I'm super jealous. You really have no idea.

Addressing the main idea in the thread...

The point you're trying to make, Dax, is entirely moot. How the hell would ku have known that they would be in such a position this late in the season? Do you honestly think that anyone from Lawrence thought that this game would even affect ku's bowl chances, let alone a national title? No, they didn't. While yes, it would be a lot better to have this game in Lawrence, it didn't matter when they scheduled this. They looked at the Mizzou game as a game that they likely wouldn't have a chance of winning. So they thought that they might as well make as much money as possible. It's easy to say that it was a dumb move, looking back on it, but initially it wasn't that stupid of a move for an administration that didn't care much for football anyway.

It's not moot.

But you made me think of something else.  It's Mangino's ultimatum year, and Lew Perkins moves a key game out of Lawrence to KC and invites 35,000 MU fans to attend.   Hmmm . . .

I'm confused on the amount of tickets that Mizzou got. I was under the impression that ku got well over the majority of the tickets. Not just a little over half..

Ben Michael,

That haircut is a touch like Mo from the Three Stooges.  Well done.

I could care less.

LOL. I'm not going to be mean. Don't do it fatty, don't do it.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Oh. Sorry I brought it up. I'm not trying to start another thread that will end up eviscerating you.  And yes, I'm jealous of your team.

Posting more pictures or making fun of him for saying "he could care less" when it should be "he couldn't care less"?

The latter would be pretty tardish IMO. The first one would be kind of mean/&@#%ed up.

No, Lew Perkins just takes the college out of college athletics.

It bothers me it isn't for the students - all of the students.

It's fair cannon fodder. Just like Weiser crying about Bob Huggins leaving.

That guy dosent know what he is talking about. Mizzou only got 20,000 tickets to give to their fans.  Assume that half of the 15,000 Chiefs fans will be rooting for Mizzou and their will be around 27,500 Mizzou fans, the rest Jayhawks.  With the closed in stadium and about the same number of ku fans that would of been in Memorial Stadium, we will actually be significantly louder than we would of been in Lawrence, where there is a huge track between the fans and the game.
Any of you clowns ever watch college football besides the team you support.  Schools play on neutral fields almost weekly, quit acting like this is some crazy idea that somebody just came up with.  The greatest rivalry in college football perhaps, Alabama/Auburn was played in Birmingham for over 50 years.  If you guys have a problem with a neurtral field than college football isnt for you. Go check out your local middle school or something.
Also, if we want to win the north division we shouldnt mind playing any of our north division rivals on a field where we will have 2/3 of the fans in attendance.  Championship teams win anywhere. home, road, or neutral dosent matter. So quit whining and have faith in your undefeated team.

Nobody said this was some "Crazy" idea dumbass.   There's a HUGE difference between 35,000 and 28,000 MU fans   .   Alabama and Auburn are extremely pleased to have the Iron Bowl back on campus now.  Again, MU has won 1 time in Lawrence in their last 8 visits.   Lew Perkins issues Mark Mangino an ultimatum and then moves what was likely to be a pivotal game for ku no matter what to Kansas City and ensures that instead of 4 or 5,000 MU fans being there, they'll be 28,000 PLUS MU fans there.   Interesting to say the least.  28,000 fans of one team can make a lot of noise in a place like Arrowhead.
