Poll

Where would you rather have the biggest game for your football program in 4 decades??

At home, where maybe 4,000 of the other teams fans can show up?
At a neutral site that means more money, but 35,000 of the other teams fans in attendance??

It won't really matter because we will beat MU.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Yes it will still matter because the possibility of playing for a national title is still in play.  With a loss, that possibility is pretty much over for ku.

LOL. Dead wrong. They could have had gameday in Lawrence. It's a huge mistake on ku's part.

Lawrence.  I'm against any game KSU would play in Arrowhead.  You don't showcase your school by having the I-70, 435 interchange in the background.  Imagine how terrible the NU game in '98 would have been in Arrowhead.

You're an idiot if you don't see the benefit of playing Mizzou at Arrowhead.

1.  If Kansas didn't move the game back to Nov. 24th, we would have played Mizzou the week before K-State.  Therefore, no bye week, no national television, and possibly no undefeated record and high amounts of confidence heading into the K-State game.

2.  Kansas is guaranteed $1 million.  That's more than we would have made playing Mizzou in Memorial Stadium.

3.  Next season, the game's still at Arrowhead.  That means that Kansas will essentially play 5 home games in conference as opposed to 4.  We'll have the luxury of playing Mizzou in Arrowhead instead of Columbia.

4.  This is great for recruiting.  It gives guys a chance to play in an NFL stadium at least once in their lifetime and it allows the local KC recruits to watch a game close to home.

so you don't believe you can beat us without a bye week or can beat MU.  thanks for informing us.  we'll take that into account next year when you don't have one.

BMW, would you rather play the game in Lawrence or Arrowhead this year?  You do realize that this game would've gotten moved irregardless of it being at Arrowhead.

BMW, I usually lay off of you because of the abuse you get on this board, but you have to be retarded to think that playing in K.C. has more benefit to the program in the long run than having the game in Lawrence. We could have had Gameday as fatty said, the stadium would be the loudest it's possibly ever been, and the slavers have a history of pissing down their legs in Lawrence. The chances of winning this game would have gone up exponentially if the game had been in Lawrence, instead we may have sold out a chance to go to the B12 CCG and possibly the national title, all because Lew wanted an extra $1 million. We'll get a lot more than that if we make a BCS game, which isn't guaranteed if we lose to the slavers, Texas might still jump us. Beating Missouri would have helped recruiting a hell of a lot more than losing on a neutral field. Next year does not matter right now, as this game will undoubtedly have more importance to the direction of the whole program than next year.

Lew didn't anticipate us being this good at the end of the season, which is understandable since nobody did, but at this point the risk is not worth the potential reward.

So you think just because the game isn't at Memorial Stadium that Kansas is going to lose???

I don't know if you're the type of fan that travels to games away from Lawrence, but I do, and I've seen Kansas play on the road first hand this season.  If you think these guys are just going to fold because there's a relatively neutral crowd than you know nothing about this team.

Another thing that I pointed out is that the Mizzou game would have preceeded the K-State game!  No bye week, possibly no undefeated record, no national television, no Big 12 title implications, etc.  You've really got to be in denial to say that the scenarios would have been the same had Kansas played Mizzou on Oct. 7th, when the game was originally scheduled.  Kansas might not even be in this position if we had lost to Mizzou right at the beginning of the season.  No Kendrick Harper in there to help out with the talented Mizzou receiving corps.  Think about that.

Also, I don't hear Oklahoma/Texas fans complaining about the Red River Shootout being at the Cotton Bowl.  If Kansas wants to move up in the college football world then we need to market ourselves, and a good way to do that is by playing games like we'll have on Nov. 24th.  Also, where is the rule that says College Gameday has to be held at a college stadium?

Anyone who says they wouldn't want the chance to play this type of a game in their home stadium is smokey smokey the wacky wacky. BMW, I'll give you a pass on this one given the euphoria that most ku fans are currently feeling.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

you really don't have faith in your team if you don't think you can't beat MU or KSU without a bye week.

I never said Kansas wouldn't have beaten K-State without a bye week.  Do I think it helped?  Yes, I do.

Enjoy your 5-5 team.

but you aren't standing pat that you're team would be 10-0 without it.  if you're going to talk up your team you should have no doubts you can beat any team, any where.

and i do enjoy my 5-5 team, albeit a crapty one, but i didn't jump on the bandwagon after 5 games into one weird ass college fball season.

MU has won 1 time in the last 8 trips to Lawrence, now they get 35,000 of their own fans to cheer them on in ku's biggest "home" game maybe EVER.

Cap . . . will you be flying into KC on your private jet??

Not really.  Our team sucks, so we can focus our energy on other things.  Keep your girl away from the concession stand, Arrowhead has some good nachos.

It seems to me like you K-State fans are all just jealous that Kansas is getting all this national recognition.  Also, who the hell would K-State play at Arrowhead?  Iowa State?
