OK... if you want to give Neb. a complement, do it. But do NOT make excuses buddy. That is pathetic. You're creating an atmosphere where losses are accepted, and where "there's nothing we could do" ???? You just don't get it.  :curse: :curse: :curse:

Oh, and this little snippet from JF: “I wanted to win, that’s about it,” Freeman said. “There wasn’t emotion. I just wanted to come out and win. Every game you play you want to play and put your team in position to win and I couldn’t get it done today.”

You know what... all this "playing with composure" and "not getting rattled" stuff is great. The way it should be. But after a game like this, I think someone (Prince??!! -- HELLO!!) needs to light a bonfire under this boy's BUTT! Some players and coaches aught to be hoppin' mad about today's game.  :chainsaw:

The only thing that could help this D is a whole new dline, yes that includes Ian FP Campbell.  Any D1 qb will carve even the best secondaries with the pass rush that we have.

It's not Freeman's fault that he has to run for his life on every single play. He had no protection today..and Ganz had all day back there. There is your ballgame.

Maybe you didn't watch the game but the pass rush was equally as bad when we had 4 down linemen.

Ganz was impressive against ku's D.

Prince considers this game an exception to the rule. So why change what is 'working'?
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I saw the highlights on ESPN and I have never seen a team look so lost on defense.  The Cats looked more like the Washington Generals out there.

Josh Freeman is a FP who has gotten lazy (see weight gain) and locks onto one receiver each time he drops to pass.  He has regressed this year and will be nothing special next year either.  Prepare yourself.

As a senior I never wanted to be a part of something like this, but sometimes things just happen. There's nothing you can really do about it. We didn't quit today, we just got outplayed."

We ran Cover 2 pretty much the entire game, and we never disguised it.  If you noticed the white guy running wide open down the seam nearly every play, then you would realize why he threw for 510.  Saying that we mixed up coverages is a joke.  &@#% Prince.

One play I turn to my friend who's at the game with me and say "We're in cover 2, all they have to do is send 3 wr's deep and find the open guy."  We stuffed them on a run on that play.  The next play, we came out with the same D and they sent 3 guys deep and hit a wide open WR down the middle of the field for like a 40 yard TD.  We are using 7th grade defensive schemes.

Under a 4-3... We set sacks record and get plenty of pass rush.

Under a 3-4 with similar personnel... The closest we can get is a finger tip tackle on the QB.

we don't have the personel to run 4-3 either.  and we generate no rush with 4 down linemen, when we do give that look.

The 3-4 with a bunch of small bodies is awesome.

Where did we get #39 anyway?

Pass rush is the key, when we do well we get pressure on the qb and those different coverages force mistakes.

you guys were told often by fans from all o0ver even some of your own that running the 3-4 without a stout d-line, and nose tackle in particular would lead to disaster but you thumbed your nose at everyone.  Hope you finally realize that there are people out there that know about the game of football.

I hope Prince gets another few years to be at KSU.  I made a cash bet to a ol buddy of mine that Freeman would never beat Nebraska, this is the year I thought he would but if he couldn't beat us this year, he never will.  And Prince deserves a couple more years.  But, just like callahan, in year 4, if he is still getting tossed around and not showing improvement he would and will be right out on his arse
