Speaking of jokes, what was your first string still doing in so late in the 4th? :jerkoff:

I'd hate to speak for a ku fan, but i'd guess the reason is "payback."  You know, for 30+ years of running up the score.

we ran up the score with our 2/3/4 string... :lick:

that's 'cuz you had 40-50 kids on "county scholarships".

 :eyeseeyou:

Hey, we talked about this topic and you said it would never come up. Don't let anyone else hear about this...  :curse: :nono:

Bingo.  The olden days, NU's 2nd and 3rd string would all be starters at other schools....but that was the olden days.

Pretending they were Nebraska circa '94, '95....

Sounds like you didn't watch much Husker football in 1994/1995. Nice attempt to make us think you have a brain....

Everytime I see Captain Argyle do one of his "I told you our guy was better than your guy" posts I just can't help but see him in his sweater on his knees in a bathroom stale in the ku football dressing room.

Damn . . .

You're a complete idiot.  Kansas' defense has been a strength all season.  BTW, your football team is a joke.
And a strength it WAS. Let's see here... 405 yards passing my a backup QB who has NEVER started a game and has had LITTLE playing time this year. He was in for a few series of mop up duty against Nevada and one series vs. Texas. Not to mention his 5 TD's he had against your outstanding D. 2 of said TD's against a supposed All American corner, who ended up playing superman's cape to Purify.

OO, but let's not forget Swift, Peterson and Erikson. 3 white and slow recievers who torched your secondary as well! Yeah, that's one hell of a defense. ku played a decent at best passing team in NU and was totally exposed! Just think, if ku would have played a passing attack with a pulse earlier in the season, I don't think those defensive numbers would have been as skewed.  :whiteflag:

You can't argue with facts.  Kansas is 6th in the country in rushing defense.  7th in the country in total defense.  The coaching staff had very little film on Ganz and expected him to be more of an option QB.  However, Nebraska came out throwing and got away with a couple illegal picks and made the game interesting early on.  You're kidding yourself though if you think there's anything wrong with Kansas' defense.  Nebraska scored on the 3rd-stringers at the end to pile up some extra yardage, mostly rushing yards (Nebraska only had 23 rushing yards halfway into the 4th quarter).

Congrats on scoring 31 points on our starters though.  If your team hadn't allowed 76 points, maybe you would have had a chance.

Excuses, ku's breakfast of champions. "We didn't have film...we thought he was an option QB". Why would you think that?! Because he ran it once against Reno?! How many times has NU ran the option this year?! Genius thinking. And the game I saw, ku's starters were still in up until 9 minutes left in the 4th. That includes O and D. Your 7th ranked total defense in the country was out played by a bunch of, what the media likes to call, "quitters".
And illegal picks? They obviously weren't too illegal seeing as the refs NEVER once called it. Your secondary was exposed and that's all you have to offer?! What about your All American who was torched by a non speedy Purify?! Nothing, right? Let me guess, those were illegal picks, too? Yeah, those go routes where Purify runs the sidelines one and one with an All American, he was illegally picked right? Twice??
ku's offfense plays mistake free football and has been playing well. But your D is EXTEMELY OVERRATED!!! And if you can't see that then you are a poor judge of football. Exposed by a 4-6 team!

Tell it to Mangino.  LOL @ the "Blackshirts" giving up 76 points.

http://www2.kusports.com/news/2007/nov/07/mangino_d_ok/?football

Finally, if only for a week, we saw a flaw on Kansas University’s football team. A new angle. A fresh concern in a season that hasn’t had very many.

Each day since ku’s 76-39 victory over Nebraska last week, Jayhawk coach Mark Mangino has been pressed about his defense, which surrendered 405 passing yards and 39 points to a Nebraska team going nowhere fast.

Certainly, critics guess, it will be a problem as No. 5 Kansas plays Saturday against an Oklahoma State team featuring freak passing targets like Adarius Bowman and Brandon Pettigrew.

It’s a theory. But Mangino isn’t buying it.

“Our defense has played well all year,” Mangino said Tuesday with a touch of irritation. “You keep asking about our defense. I think you think we have some issues. I don’t think we do.”

Kansas did twist the knife against Nebraska, intercepting four second-half passes and improving to 9-0 with the 37-point victory. But the pass-defense breakdowns in the first half were obvious to the naked eye, partly because they led to some big plays and partly because Kansas hasn’t had a lot of problems otherwise all season.

“There’s no concerns,” Mangino insisted. “It’s all correctable things. We had a few communication breakdowns. They caught us on a couple of pick routes. We understand that can happen and how to deal with that. I thought our defensive coaches made excellent adjustments at the half.”

Coupled with quick fixes on the practice field Sunday, ku’s sixth-year coach feels it won’t be a liability this week, when Kansas travels for a 7 p.m. game Saturday at Oklahoma State.

The Cowboys are balanced enough to go any way they want offensively. But seeing Texas A&M’s failures running the ball against Kansas, coupled with Nebraska’s success throwing it, makes an air-it-out game plan for OSU a good guess.

The Cowboys have big targets in 6-foot-4 Bowman (57 catches for 910 yards) and 6-6 tight end Pettigrew (27-449). In addition, quarterback Zac Robinson has passed for 1,939 yards this season, with just one interception his last four games.

“I think A&M had some outstanding players,” ku defensive coordinator Bill Young said, “but I think Oklahoma State has more.”

Which inevitably puts added pressure on ku’s pass defense. Part of that is coverage, which Mangino seemed to have few concerns with. But part of it is also stopping a play before it ever gets to the secondary.

“One thing we need to do is get a better rush with our four down guys,” Mangino said. “We’ve talked about that. That’s something we will work on. We can’t give the quarterback a whole lot of time to throw the ball.”

But pressing issues on that unit? Mangino doesn’t think so.

Part of being 9-0, he figures, is that opponents will game-plan more creatively than ever to try to knock the hot team off the top of the totem pole.

Nebraska did just that. And Mangino doesn’t want anyone to mistake that for an internal deficiency at Kansas.

“I have told our players that we’re going to get everybody’s best shot now,” Mangino said. “You have to be prepared for anything and everything.”

Nice, you have nothing to come back with but only an article off the interweb. So you really don't know anything about football, you resort to listening to the media and what ku's coach says. Awesome. So I should start listening to Callahan when he says he's doing an excellent job, right? Your football IQ is piss poor.
And bragging about scoring 76 on the NU defense. That's laughable. Just remember this is the same defense that let Ball friggin' St. put 40 on them. As well as 4 or 5 other schools this year. You still haven't responded to how badly your supposed All American got torched not once but twice by a fair speed Purify. Talib is a poser and a pretender. He sh1t the bed when a semi decent WR lined up across from him. I think he also sh1t the bed when J. Nelson lined up with him too.
Please respond with your own take next time, not what some writer thinks. Asshat.

ku is undefeated and ku fans still know nothing about their team or football for that matter.

I really don't understand your argument. K-State placed in ku's position last week would have prepped the option too. I really don't see how you can dispute this in light of so many people on these boards dogging your own defense.

Quite frankly, when Ganz is Big 12 offensive player of the week next week you can tell me how you had a week to prepare with some video and in truth, your defense is just really that bad.

Not every game is going to go your way, but we still won. Our defensive stats are still good beyond the one game and deluding yourself otherwise is just making you look silly.

We already know K-State's defense blows so you guys won't have an excuse when Ganz throws up a Texas Tech style game on you.

ku's stats were inflated by the Jayhawks' weak non-conference schedule.  Your run defense is good, but ku is 8th in the conference in pass defense during Big XII play.  SO, yeah, there is something wrong with ku's defense.  And Talib = overrated.

I still have not heard a reponse about why an All American can not cover a decent WR. I believe Jordy Nelson toasted Talib as did Purify twice. I suppose I never will get a response, just a 76 points reference or a news article of what Mangina has to say. I wonder what Bowman will do to ku's secondary. Or Frankiln, Maclin, Coffman, Rucker, etc etc. You know, teams that have a good passing attack. Unlike all the teams ku has played thus far.

ku fans=FAIL!
