 JM.  He is our best player on defense.

*move Ian back to DE and run the 4-3 *

Yes.  He's been by far the best player on our defense.  Definitely not an FP.  But I think he probably gets 2nd team all big 12.  Talib will get 1st team on name recognition only.

.....now watch him go out and get burnt by Purify and get 5 personal fouls against NU.

Mckinney is good not first team all big 12 good but he's good.  Tough as nails the best tackler on the team and like you say he doesn't get beat often.  He'll get some kind of all conference honors.  I'm thinking the only guys on our team that make first team all big 12 will be Jordy and Reyer and they are pretty much locks.    Jordy is the best player in the league regardless of position.

Rusty,

You have been on a mission lately.  Pointing out silver linings and pumping positivity.  I hate you.
Welcome back, Bill.

Great, add him to the list of players we likely CAN'T replace with a JUCO guy:

Jordy
J.J.
McKinney

...

...

B4 this season I would have put Watts on the list but Carney is far superior at this time IMO.

JM got beat pretty bad on one play against ISU. Watts of all people had to come make the tackle.

They were running zone and blythe ran a deep post, it was watts' guy after mckinney released him. so, watts blew the play.

I think it probably should be we can't replace 2nd/3rd year juco player production with 1st year juco's.

Well, we didn't really have anyone to replace Figurs and Moreira, either (just one example).

You actually want both Abana and Balkom on the field at the same time   Manu could play some DT I guess but the less the other two see the field the better.

i suppose that in conference play mckinney is worthy of all conference but before the conference season started how many dumb penalties did he make?  how many personal fouls and pass interferences did he have?  its too bad it took him so long to become an asset to the team.

True.  But we replaced Figurs with a healthy Jordy and Moreira with Murphy.  Murphy has been a nice surprise.  AA and Lui seem to be coming along nicely (or rather like normal juco players do).  Pierce seems to be the only 1st year juco offensive player that hasn't done much of anything at all.

Defensively this year, our first year juco production flat out sucks.

Do we remember how many mental errors this kid was making early on in the season?

He's a good enough corner for us... but All Big 12? No.

Honorable mention perhaps.
