I'm curious, what do ku fans consider their "best" win of this season?  @ A&M?

Lucked out again vs. Nebraska.

Seriously, if we got that lucky we'd be #2 in the poll.

    The very best.
that's really awesome, congrats.

jmo, i think your football season is going to end kinda sh1tty. not sour grapes, just imo.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

It can't end crapty. Even losing out it would still be an incredible jump and improvement.

Its bonerific.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

No offense, but that's really, really FP.  Your only tough game of the year is on a nuetral field, 30 minutes away from Lawrence.  If you win that, your next game is on a nuetral field as well.  I don't care if you didn't think you'd be in this position at the beginning of the year.  FP.

I'm quite astounded we just leap-frogged OU in the BCS. That's stupid. Seriously. That's stupid. What the &@#%. They just killed A&M. I love my boys, but that's just stupid.

Are you Danny Clinkscale by any chance?  Seriously, if you want to do comparitive scores, you've also got to note that Oklahoma lost to Colorado in Boulder.

And Colorado lost by a lot to Mizzou who OU beat. Has nothing to do with the other. You might make an argument that it was a fluke when, but Colorado is a developing team. They have consistency issues, but I am happy we don't have to play CU again.

No, I'm not Danny Clinkscale. I can be very bothered by how the polls work out. ku does not deserve to leap-frog OU on the basis of drubbing the worst Nebraska team to ever wear the jersey. Yes, it was glorious to drub Nebraska, but A&M is a much better team. This is showcased by A&M's pounding of Nebraska. We beat A&M, but OU dismantled them.

Sorry, but that isn't right to OU. The best teams should be ranked accordingly. I love being number 4 but not at the expense of a better team (which I feel OU is).

Ehh, I'm hard-pressed to say we'll win out. We have a tough stretch of games still to play. OSU is a decent squad, ISU is a decent squad - especially over the last 3 to 4 weeks. Mizzou is Mizzou. OU is beatable, but they're a great team that'll be hard to beat.

I remember people saying that for several weeks leading up the Big IIX CCG in 03.  OU is hardly unbeatable.

You're right. 9 wins is so awful. It would be a sour note to end on.

But I'd hardly be disappointed in the season overall.

And for some reason a lowly KSU board is the first place you go.

Anything less than a Big XII title and final 4 appearance respectively is a total underachievement then.

Again, if you want to do comparitive scores, you can't dismiss the fact that Oklahoma lost to Colorado.  The bottom line is that Kansas has zero losses.  According to the BCS, that 1 loss decreases your overall ranking by 1 full point, so even if Oklahoma is better than Kansas in reality, the computers don't see it that way.

Kansas had the opportunity to beat A&M by a lot more than what we did, but anytime you go into College Station and walk away with a victory, there's not a whole lot you can be disappointed with.  The good thing is that Kansas has showed all year that our defense is capable of completely shutting teams down, and that our offense is good enough to put up 76 points on any given day.  These guys have been getting it done on a week-to-week basis, taking it one game at a time.  There's no reason why people should still be doubting this team.

If college football is so crappy then stick to basketball.  I hear you guys got a good team this year.  After a 15 year stretch of K-State being a football school, its time for them to go back to thier roots and revive their basketball program.  Rumor is, after Todd Reesing gets done changing the football landscape in this state, he's contemplating changing the political landscape of the state and running for Governor.  His slogan will probably be "It aint the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog." Todd Reesing for Governor in 2010.

This isn't because i'm a kstate fan, seriously, but #4 is WAY overrated. ku hasn't played ONE ranked team. not one.

This ku team is kinda similar to the 99 Ksu team.  We were ranked 4th, unbeaten in the middle of November.   Both teams are good, both teams found ways to win when they did not play their best ball in the 1st half of some games.   And both teams are for sure top 15 teams but not top 5 or top 10 teams.   How our 99 team ended the year at 11-1 is beyond me.

It's not overrated. It's where we are. You're not going to get a bunch of nit-picking from me beyond the fact that I think it is sketchy we hopped OU, but if that's where we are, I'll take it.

It's not overrated when we could be either #4 or #5. The blowout on Nebraska was a message to a program that has for a long time run the score up on people without a second thought.

K-state was #24 when we beat them. There goes that theory.

Ladies and Gentlemen may I present you with the ONLY ku fan on this board with any sense at all. Hawkish, I take my hat off to you - I appreciate you candor and honest look at this year. I agree, your defense is stellar - Hiccups? Sure, but you all have pulled it out in the end every time. I would be concerned with a few things:

1. In a few of kus games, the D looked a little lacsidasical at the end - still won though.

2. It appears that the offense might be getting figured out. They just dont seem to be as "high powered" as they did early. BTW, beating NUB like you did is = to beating Miami, FSU etc as this year, NU is just a name of a team that used to be good.

We'll see.

BMW, poking fun at a player like Lamar Brown is kinda dumb - he's a true FR, he will dominate, but he (like Freeman) and MANY of kus players need a little adjustment time.
